Turtle & Frogs Game |
TO MAKE: ADD TURTLES and FROGS:
TO PLAY:
Use an old cake pan, preferably metal one, add some stones and about one inch of water.
12 or more plastic turtles and/or frogs are needed.
The first player, shakes two die and adds that many creatures to the "pond" cake pan. The second player shakes the two die and must decide if he needs to ADD or SUBTRACT creatures, as this new number he shook is now the number of creatures that should be in the "pond." Players continue adding and subtracting creatures.
NOTE: This is an excellent game for a parent or older sibling to play with a younger player, as there is NO winner...just fun play. This is also a good time to talk/teach terms related to addition and subtraction. Consider these:
more/less
greater than/less than
add
subtract
take away
minus
plus
sum
difference
Also consider writing the equations of each players turn on a piece of paper or chalkboard.
