Ocean ID

Fun game to drill or review the ocean creatures learned during our ocean unit.

To Make:

The pictures were cut from books on ocean animals. They are glued to the file folder using enough glue stick to hold them in place until the Contact paper securely holds and protects them. Also note that a number was placed next to each creature. These numbers correspond to the answer key which names each animal.

There is also a deck of cards that go with this game. They simply have the numbers 1-18 on them and there are four of each.

To Play:

In turn, players spin a spinner or shake one die. This number indicates the number of cards the player may draw. If he is able to correctly identify the numbered creature, he keeps the card. If the answer is incorrect, everyone is given the correct name (this builds teaching into the game) and the card is returned to the bottom of the draw pile.

Play continues until all cards have been collected by players and the one with the most cards wins. Teams can add their cards together as a way to include younger players with older ones.
