Naps... and my thoughts about them...

During my second year, I've gotten better at all the things I learned during my first year. Napping has always been one of my favorite pastimes, and although you may not believe it, my mom's alarm clock wakes me up most mornings. The napping thing is something that takes special skills.

You must never nap if there's anything exciting going on. That's a given.
You must never nap if there's food in sight, it's nearly mealtime, if you can smell food, or even if you're thinking about food. Food is always more important than a nap.
If you are really lucky, you can find a sunny spot to take a nap. It seems to add to the quality of the nap, being covered in sunshine!
A nap can be interrupted several times by the least sound, but it's always easy to fall back to sleep again.
Naps are something people should take more often, but not so often that it interferes with their job.
We dogs need people to take very good care of their jobs so they can buy us treats and all kinds of fun toys and stuff!

By now, you must think I do nothing but eat, sleep, and beg for food. That's not all I do.

I guard the house. I'm on duty 24/7, and so far, I've had an impecable record for keeping burglars, salesmen, UPS drivers, paper carriers, birds, and squirrels from entering the house. I have a rather large sounding bark, and although mom says I'd probably help them carry the furniture away if they gave me a treat, I think she's wrong.

I have also learned that when my mom is very busy, it's not a good time to ask her if it's ok for me to add things to my website. So, as those of you who check here often may have noticed, mom has been busy.
Now that Winter is approaching, I think my chances of adding my thoughts more often here are better!
