One of the great things about college is that you get to meet so many interesting people. Furthermore, you may even meet people in some great bands from around the area. This page is dedicated to the bands I love from all over...locally to nationally known. You'll find links to most of their sites below. Enjoy!
From the Twin Cities...
Jigawatt
Direct from good ol' UST, these guys are the hottest thing in jazz/hip hop/funk music since...well who knows? In the last year, the guys of Jigawatt have made the rounds at all the local clubs in the cities, made it to the finals at the amateur talent competition at the Minnesota State Fair, and made their Twin Cities radio debut on "KQ Homegrown" (KQ92). They also recently won the "Battle of the Bands" at Macalester College, and they took second place in the 3rd annual UST "Scootstock". Mercy's Own
Yet another UST band, this one has an edge unlike any other. The music is called "metal core"--a mix of heavy metal, punk, and hard rock. In fact, they recently released one of their singles onto MP3.com and spent four days at the top of the metalcore charts. In the past few months, they made an appearance on UST's "Campus Scope", played a huge gig at The Quest, and won third place at "Scootstock". Click on their link below for gig info, music, and bios!
