- ed kemper -... twisted .. childhood ... Edmund Kemper's parents separated when Edmund was nine and then ultimately divorced four years later. His mother moved to Montana, taking Ed and his two sisters, and Edmund was subjected to bitter discipline. His mother thought her son was "a real weirdo". As a teenager mom forced Ed to live in the windowless basement so he wouldnt scare his sisters and because she considered his having joint use of a room with his sister inappropriate. Edmund had a near-genius IQ hidden within his lanky body and twisted mind. Since early in his childhood he had many death fantasies. As a child he liked playing execution and once told his sister that if he were to love someone they would first have to be dead. He liked decapitating his sisters' dolls and playing gas chamber. He also enjoyed killing, torturing, and mutilating animals. He would often enthrall in daydreams, which connected sex and violence. He claimed that he would often fantasize of "making a doll out of a human being." Emund's mother found him unruly, and sent him back to California to live with his father and stepmother. And then during Christmas of 1963, Edmund's father sent him to live with his grandparents on a ranch in northern California. His violent fantasies soon returned. And as the tension on the farm grew, his grandmother became more distressed. |
