- ed kemper -... details .. of .. the .. victims ... Having his car ready for victims, Edmund began his killing spree. Between the years 1971 and 1973, he racked up six victims, all hitchiking women students, which why he was dubbed with the nickname "The Coed killer." On May 7, 1972, Edmund picked up two girls from Fresno State College that were hitchiking to Stanford University. Mary Ann Pesce, and Anita Luchessa. Edmund took them to a secluded area and stabbed them both to death. He then took the bodies home and anatomized them, playing with various organs, and having sex with their viscera. He also took many Polaroid's for fun. After tiring of this, Edmund gathered the girls headless remains and placed them in plastic bags to busy in the Santa Cruz mountains. Edmund decided to keep the girls heads around the house for a while but eventually decided to toss them into a deep ravine. In August of 1972, Mary Ann's corpse was found and identified. Neither Anita's head nor her body have ever been found. Four months later on September 14, 1972, Edmund picked up Aiko Koo. He suffocated her and then raped her corpse. Edmund then took her home and dissected her. The next morning, he was visited by a state psychiatrist to monitor his mental state. Edmund seemed to be doing so well that the shrink ruled him "no longer a threat to himself or others". During this interview, the 15 year old girl's head was in the trunk of Edmund's car. Once the interview was completed, Edmund drove back to the mountains and buried her body. On January 9, 1973, Edmund picked up Cindy Schall, a student from Santa Cruz. He forced her into the trunk of his car and shot her with a 22-caliber automatic pistol. He once again had sex with the corpse, dissecting it and then bagging the remains to be tossed off a cliff into the ocean. All except the head of course. He buried that in his mothers garden, which was right below her bedroom window, facing the head toward the house because, according to Edmund, she always wanted people "to look up at her." Cindy's body was discovered within the next 24 hours. On February 5, 1973, Edmund picked up hitchiker Rosalind Thorpe. After drivng a short distance Edmund noticed another hitchiker, Alice Liu. As they drove along, Edmund distracted Rosalind by pointing at something out the window, and as she turned to look, Edmund pulled out his gun and shot her point blank in the head. He then turned quickly, and fired several times at Alice, unfortunately for Edmund though, she did not die right away. He had to pull over and shoot her again at point blank range. Once back home, Edmund beheaded the bodies. The next day he had sex with Alice's corpse in his room and then after removing the bulltets from the heads of the girls, he drove off to dispose of the body parts. Approximately one week later the bodies were discovered. This would bring the end to the murder of hitchikers. Edmund was now moving on to more interesting things, matricide. |
