It’s your birthday again,
And I can’t help wondering
Where the years
Have gone
Since you were just
My little girl,
Reaching out for me
To hold you,
To protect you,
To love you….
And on you’re birthday,
I cant help remembering
Those days,
Bit I also see you grow
Mature and strong,
No longer in need of me
To protect you
I hope you know, though,
That I’m still here
When you want me to
And always,
Always
To love you.
