To properly breed chocobos you must have the following items:

* 1 Chocobo Lure Materia

* 20 Sylkis Greens

* 6 Chocobo stables

* 3 Carob Nuts

* 1 Zeio Nut

It's a good idea to have the following

* 40 Regen Greens

First go to the traks outside the gold saucer area. Catch 3 chocobos and send them all back to the stables then go to the traks outside Mideel, catch 3 chocobos and send them back to the stables. Go back to the Stables and talk to chocobo Billy select moving chocobos. If you see a good chocobo (he'll be standing on the spot) then put him in the stables, and if you find a great chocobo (he'll be jogging slowly with his head up) then put him in the stables. Now breed the good and great chocobo with a carob nut (of course providing there the opposite sex) and you should get a green or blue chocobo. If not reset and try again.

Feed the green or blue chocobo 10 regen greens (if you have them) and race it up to class A at the gold saucer, go back to the stables and save your game. Now breed the good and great chocobos again with a carob nut and you should get the opposite to the one you got the first time. For Example. On the first time if you got a green male chocobo you should get a blue female chocobo. If not restart and try again.

Feed your new chocobo 10 Regen Greens then race it up to class A so you have a Green and Blue chocobo of the opposite sex both in class A. Then breed them two with a Carob Nut and you should get a black chocobo. If not restart and try again.

Now feed your black chocobo 10 Regen Greens and race it up to class A. Then go to the Northern Continent (where the chocobo sage lives) and go to the traks on the west of it. Catch four chocobos and go back to the stables and save. Look through your new chocobos and if you see a wonderful one (it will be running very fast) then put it in the chocobo stables and make sure it's the opposite sex of your class a black one. If it is then feed it ten Regen Greens and race it up to Class A, if it isn't go back and catch some more.
