The nonresistance doctrine was taught and exemplified by Christ and the apostles and adhered to by true Christians until the present time. We understand the Scriptures teach nonparticipation in military service in any form. Since all service under the military arm of the government, whether combatant or noncombatant, serves the purpose of carnal warfare. 2 Corinthians 10:4; Matthew 5:21; Romans 12:19; 1 John 3:14-16.
We should at all times pray for our rulers (1 Tim.2:1-3), and maintain an attitude of submission to the government under which we live, whether the demands made by the said government seem reasonable or unreasonable (Romans 13:1-5; Titus 3:1). However, when the requirements of earthly authorities conflict with the requirements of Scriptures, we should unhesitatingly obey God (Acts 5:29). We should then disobey civil authority.
