Ricky Rudd

History of the Texaco car, of the last 3 drivers....

My favorite nascar driver is Ricky Rudd! Most people have never heard of him, but hes good! He won at least 1 race for 16 straight years! Most people remember him as the team owner/driver of the #10 Tide car. But, in a world where u need partners from the same team, you cant be a single car team, causing Rudd to get rid of Rudd Performance Motorsports. Rudd was then offered a job from the Texaco team. There driver, Irnie Irvan, got in a severe accident causing his career to be finished. Rudd took the job, and hoped to bounce back in the point standings, and pick up his first win in 4 years. after finishing 32nd in pts with Tide, he ended up finishing 5th! The only one in the top 10 without a win!

Recent Rudd news

Rudd @ Atlanta.... Ricky Rudd qualified 5th, and moved up to 4th after the rain delay! The 28 car was having problems with there electrical unit. The problem wouldnt effect the cars speed, or handling, but it would make driving for Rudd, very hard! The temp in the car would reach over 100 degrees! The race continued the next day, and Rudd said he had a great car for long green flag races! He was always in the lead group of cars. But, Rudd had a gear problem, and he was forced to pit, putting Rudd down 38 laps, and ending his race, He finished 39th. Rudd is currently 18th in points.

Ricky Rudd raced in the IROC (Internation Race of Champions) at daytona, and led most of the race, and on the final turn, Rudd's teamate, Dale Jarrett, went side by side with him as they raced and bumped into eacherother repeatedly, Dale Jarrett won by 0.004 of a second! Rudds chance to break his losing streak, once again fell short!

NASCAR'S INDY 500, Ricky Rudd, a ford driver, was struggling. Rudd picked up a top 10 in last years indy. But, this year, nascar put in a new restrictor plate to make the cars more arrowdinamic. The Dodges(first appearence since 1986) were doing good with the new set up. The Fords were struggling! Rudd started the daytona 500 30th! his teamate, Dale Jarrett, started 31st! Jarrett struggled, and so did Rudd for the beg. part of the race. Rudd had a rattling problem, and when in the pits 24. Rudd fixed the problem and came out 5th! Rudd then moved up to 2nd place! But, Rudd fell out of the draft falling back into 20th. Rudd repeatdly moved up to 2nd, and back down to 15! But, with 21 laps to go, a big pile up happened. 18 cars were involved. Rudd made it undamaged, and was in 5th! Dale Jarrett was in the crash! After pitting, Rudd came out 2nd! But, Rudd fell out of the draft and fell back in the pack! with just laps left, Rudd made another push to the front! but, on the back straightaway of the final lap, Rudd was in 8th place, and a crash happened right infront of him! He barely missed Dale Earnhart! He finished 4th place! Micheal Waltrip picked up his first ever victory!
