In October 2001, my wife and I constructed a 10 x 12 "cabin" on land we had purchased in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan, just across the Wisconsin border. (The Knot Shop is located in Wausau, Wisconsin, "smack-dab" in the center of the state.) Because there is no electricity running to the property, I designed the cabin on Delta Cad and cut, assembled and marked each rafter, stud, header, etc. at the Knot Shop. The dates in the photograph captions give you an idea on how quickly the weather changes in the "Northwoods."
