Sorted: Both Sony Europe and Konami have finally released an official statement addressing the much talked about problems with the recently released Metal Gear Solid 2 demo.
When the hotly anticipated MGS2 demo was released with ZOE, reports quickly began to flood in saying the demo wouldn't run. This only happened on a certain number of PlayStation 2s, just one percent according to the statement.
At the time, Konami went on record as saying that the problem was with the PS2 hardware, and not the actual software. Here's the official, albeit a bit vague, statement:
"The problem is extremely technically complex and has been traced to a very rare combination of factors in the manufacturing process of the discs. The process has been modified to ensure that the fault does not reoccur. Consumers who own such a copy are asked to contact the SCEE care lines in their corresponding country, who will then replace the discs."
