Josie leaned her head back on Brian’s couch. She was sitting in their living room playing with Litty Leigh. She had only been there a week. They thought Josie wanted to visit them for awhile, when the truth was Nick didn’t even want to see her. She tried calling, but he always hung up on her or never returned her call when she got the answering machine. Leighanne was talking on the phone to someone in the next room. She heard Leighanne get up and footsteps come towards the living room.
“It’s for you” Leighanne exclaimed.
“Who is it?” Josie questioned, taking the phone.
“Nick” Leighanne replied. Josie almost screamed, she had so much to tell him.
“Hello?” Josie asked.
“Hey” Nick replied.
“What do you want?” Josie asked, she hadn’t wanted it to sound mean, but it came out that way.
“Well, I had these pictures in my drawer and I know you have them, so can I have ‘em back?” Nick questioned. Josie had forgotten about the pictures.
“You can have ‘em, if you come get ‘em” Josie replied. Nick sighed.
“I think I have the roll, I can just get doubles” Nick commented.
“I love you” Josie blurted out. He might not believe it, but it was the truth. Everyone she had ever loved, she had screwed up with. Her mom, her step-mom, Becky, Her dad, Jon and now Nick. Being with Nick, she had made up with all of them. Nick made her complete; she wouldn’t lose him..No wait..she couldn’t lose him.
“Josie-“ Nick started to protest. Josie cut him off.
“Nick, everyone that has meant something to me, I’ve broken their heart or I betrayed them some way. I can’t let it happen with us” Josie explained.
“You already let that happen” Nick mumbled. Josie heard a beep.
“I have another call” Josie explained. She clicked over.
“Hello?” Josie asked.
“Hey” Eminem exclaimed. Josie almost screamed.
“Why are you calling me?” Josie demanded.
“I love you too” Eminem joked. “I went through a lot of trouble to get ahold of you”
“That’s real great, but I’m on the other line with Nick and I can’t deal with you right now”
“I’ll wait” Eminem replied. Josie clicked over.
“Whose on the other line?” Nick asked.
“Eminem” Josie replied. Nick was quiet.
“Nick?” Josie asked, waiting for some response.
“I learned from the best” Nick muttered, hanging up the phone. Josie made a face. ‘I learned from the best?’ Josie asked herself. ‘What the hell?’ Josie clicked the phone off. Forgetting about Eminem on the other line.
“So let me get this straight, You hit my boyfriend-” Josie started. It was an hour later and she was talking to Eminem on the phone.
“Ex-boyfriend” Eminem corrected.
“You hit Nick and now you want me help you sing a song at the Grammy’s?” Josie asked.
“Basically yeah. You told me awhile ago that you could sing and Dido can’t sing the part in my new single STAN” Eminem explained.
“Fuck you, I’m not doing anything for you” Josie muttered.
“You owe me” He replied.
“I owe you jack shit, You broke up my relationship” Josie explained.
“Excuse me Miss I’m the only one that means anything in this world, You didn’t exactly force me off you” Eminem argued.
“I don’t think I’m the only one that means anything, Nick means something too” Josie replied.
“Oh I forgot, He really seems to like you at the moment” Eminem joked. “Listen, you go with me, we see Nick, I explain to him some stuff and then you two will live happily ever after”
“I dunno-Being with you won’t look good at all” Josie explained.
“Who knows, Maybe you’ll become famous, I’ll send you over the lyrics and stuff” Eminem explained. “You can come to Detroit like a week before the concert, Kim needs to get a dress for the awards”
“Ok” Josie replied, giving in.
“Great-Thanks” He said. Josie mumbled and hung up the phone. The light meaning someone was still on the phone was lit. Josie heard the phone in the hall hang up. She walked over by it, Leighanne stood there.
“Josie how stupid are you?” Leighanne yelled. Josie had explained what had happened between Nick and Her. Leighanne hadn’t said a word until now.
“I know Leigh, I just want to make it up to him, I WAS stupid and I’ve been a total bitch, but I care about him” Josie explained.
“How are you planning to do that?” Leighanne questioned.
“You were listening to my conversation with Em, You should know” Josie snapped. Leighanne shook her head.
“Fine whatever, You do whatever the hell you want” Leighanne replied.
“Leighanne, Do you know what I learned from the best is?” Josie questioned.
“Why?”
“Nick said something about it to me”
“Well, Um, Whitney Houston’s new single is I learned from the best, That could be it”
“Do you have the CD?”
“No, but she’s playing at the Grammy’s”
“Perfect”
