Josie felt the pain rush through her body. She couldn’t hear anything from the shock of the crash but she could read the terror on people’s faces. Josie sat still, the people didn’t seem to be staring at her but something else laying in front of the car.
“I must be dead and that’s my body” Josie mumbled to herself. A tall man next to her looked down. He started to tell her something but she brushed it off, she couldn’t hear him anyway. Suddenly, a cough rose from her lungs and her ears popped.
“OMG, Is that guy OK?” Josie heard someone scream.
“Did you see that?” Another asked. Josie sighed. She looked down to see her body covered in blood. She felt the tears sting her eyes. There was so much blood-she must be dead. She was afraid to look at the cut where she had gotten hit but she did anyway. Josie pulled up her shirt and searched for a wound, but never found one.
”It’s all my fault” Josie cried. Leighanne hugged her.
“Honey, He jumped in front of the car to save you” Leighanne replied. They were sitting in the emergency room. They had made Josie go to the ER the minute she arrived. She had insisted on seeing Nick but no one would let her. Brian and Leighanne had arrived soon after she arrived at the ER and the rest of the guys came soon after that.
“I can’t live without him Leigh” Josie mumbled. The door opened and Brian walked in.
“You might have to” He exclaimed. Leigh and Josie froze. “They brought him into surgery since he lost a lot of blood and now he’s in intensive care. BUT the good thing is if he lives through the night they think he’ll be OK”
“Poor Nick” Josie cried.
“You might not believe this Josie but Nick would rather it be u in here and him in there. He couldn’t bear to see you in the ER and it would kill him to see you like that. It might be better this way” Leigh explained. AJ burst into the room.
“Nick just came out of his coma like state thing guys!” He yelled. They all ran down the hall towards the intensive care unit. Nick’s eyes were open but he wasn’t saying a word. The doctor stood above him examining little things.
“Doctor, Can he hear us?” Josie questioned.
“Yea, He just can’t talk or respond. I don’t think it’s because of anything to do with being paralyzed though” The doctor replied. Josie looked up at the guys.
“Can I talk to him?” Josie questioned.
“Sure” Kevin replied. Josie pulled a chair up to the bed and grabbed Nick’s hand. Waiting for everyone to leave the room. When no one did, she looked up.
“Alone please” Josie complained.
“Oh sorry” Kevin blushed. He started to push everyone out. Josie sighed and looked down at Nick.
“You’re so stupid. Why didn’t you just let me keep walking? Why did you have to save me? You’re the most important thing to me and you’ll always be the most important thing to me. No matter what happens today or tomorrow or 20 years from now. Nick, I need you to live, not for yourself, not for your family, not for your friends, and not for your fans, but for me. You’re what have pulled me through my life. You’re the bright light for me in night. Whenever I heard someone mention your name I smiled and if you’re not here with me I’ll never get through my life. I knew from the moment I saw you I wanted to spend my life with you. You were the exact opposite of me. You were so disgusting and horny and I didn’t know how to contend but then you grew on me and soon I feel hard for you. You can’t leave me Nick, I love you” Josie explained. She closed her eyes and squeezed his hand. Josie had helped Nick and Howie write a song that appeared on the Black and Blue CD. It was called “How did I fall in love with you. She closed her eyes and started to sing a little to him,
“Remember when we never needed each other? The best of friends like sister and brother. We understood we’d never be alone. Those days are gone now I want you so much. The night is long and I need your touch. Dunno what to say never meant to feel this way. Don’t wanna be alone tonight. What can I do to make you mine? Falling so hard so fast this time. What did I say what did I do? How did I fall in love with you?” Josie opened her eyes and started to cry. She didn’t ever wanna loose Nick. Nick’s head moved a little and he stared up at Josie for a second. She stood up, while still holding his hand, and went to go get the doctor. Nick pulled her back and stared at her.
“I’m sorry” Nick mumbled. Josie’s face went to a confused look and a few seconds later his heart monitor went flat lined.
