Brian stared at Lyndz sadly. "I didn't mean that..I know she still loves me....I'm just....confused"
"I know Brian" Lyndz replied. She sighed and looked over at Jason.
"Have you ever had those butterflies? You know...In your stomach that you just can't get rid of?" Brian asked.
"I used to when I saw Nick...Not anymore thou" Lyndz replied. Brian nodded.
"Well the first time I saw Megan...I had those butterflies in my stomach....And whenever I saw her after not seeing her for like a few months...I had 'em again and it always made me think that it meant we were meant for eachother" Brian explained. "I was always afraid to take our relationship to the next level, thinking that I'd screw something up and that feeling would go away and I'd figure out we really weren't meant for eachother"
"So....Your point?" Lyndz asked.
"My point is that no matter what has happened, I never doubted for a minute that we were destined to be together forever until this moment...and that makes me realize that maybe I never really loved her and I only stayed with her for Jason's sake" Brian exclaimed. Lyndz shook her head.
"Your looking at it all wrong Brian....It's not that you never loved her...You just realized that love isn't only a feeling you get...It's an emotion...It's a part of you and the fact that you feel that you LOST that love....You think you never had it at all...when it's been there all along and you never truly showed her. Brian..You're so blind...She's been hurting for so long...Wanting to tell you about Jason-but she never thought it was the right time. She waited 5 years for you to pop the question Brian...She loves you more than anything in the world" Lyndz explained. Brian laughed.
"She used me Lyndz...For 5 years she fucked with my brain and my heart. I was misrable for months-but I never told her-thinking that it would make her misrable. And now...I don't care....And I think I'm finally gonna be happy"
"No B...Your just telling yourself that....YOu can't do that...I want you to go over and see her...tell her that to her face and THEN and ONLY THEN will I believe you"
"Fine" Brian replied. He walked over and checked on Jason before leaving the hospital with Lyndz.
"I'm waiting" Lyndz exclaimed. Brian looked over at her and sighed.
"Hold your horses woman...I'm thinking of what to say" Brian said with a grin. Lyndz laughed and rolled her eyes.
"Quit being a pussy and get your ass in there" Lyndz replied. She smiled as he walked to the door. He stopped there for a moment...thinking of what to tell Megan when he saw her. He looked back at Lyndz; who was getting out of the car, motioning for him to hurry his ass up; and opened the door. The house was dark except for light that was coming from under the master bedroom, Brian walked toward it, hesitating before he opened it, listening to the voices from inside.
"That was the shit" Nick exclaimed, walking to the TV/VCR in front of the bed and pushing rewind. The 2 had been pretty bored, so they went out and rented 'Dude, where's my car'.
"That was so my kind of movie" Megan replied. Nick walked over the bed, where Megan was lying, and laid down next to her.
"What should we do now?" He asked.
"Go see Jason" Megan replied.
"And then?" Nick asked.
"Get something to eat"
"And then?"
"Have wild, exotic sex" Megan joked.
"And Then, And Then, And Then" Nick exclaimed in a chinese voice,imatating the movie. Megan slapped him.
"Your such a dork" She joked. Megan jumped on top of him, trying to smack him. Nick laughed, trying to defend himself from Megan's slaps. He rolled her over, so he was on top.
"Now I've got you" Nick laughed. They heard the door open and Brian walk in. Megan pushed Nick off of her quickly and jumped off the bed.
"Bri...What are you doing here? We didn't exepct you to come" Megan exclaimed.
"I can tell" Brian replied bitterly. He looked at his friend, who wasn't able to look him in the eyes.
"It's not as bad as it looks" Megan exclaimed.
"How bad is it then Meg?" Brian asked. Megan shrugged.
"It's not what you think" She replied. "Nick told me his blood type matched....We rented a movie to celebrate and Nick was being a dork so i slapped him and that's when you walked in"
"Yea...The doctor told me all about it...He also took a DNA test to see if he was Jason's dad did you know that?" Brian yelled.
"Yea" Megan replied.
"Why would he take a DNA test Megan?" Brian asked.
"I dunno" Megan replied quietly. She looked up into his eyes, not knowing what to say. His blue eyes looked glossed over, as if he had been crying. She sighed. "It was before we met, at one of those record company parties...Me and Nick met and went back to his apartment"
"That day at the mall, when I first met you...You acted like you didn't know eachother" Brian exclaimed.
"I'd forgotten by then...I was drunk that night ...When I went to the doctor and he told me I was pregnant I didn't even think of Nick as being the father" Megan replied. Nick got off the bed, walking towards the door.
"I should leave" Nick exclaimed. Brian blocked his exit.
"No you shouldn't" Brian replied. He looked at Megan, tears starting to form in the corners of his eyes.
"Lyndz is out in the car. We got to talking at the hospital and she made me realize that even through all this...I still loved you...and that I still did. I told her I didn't...but in my heart I even doubted that...I came to see if I wanted to leave you for good or if I wanted us to start over. And then I find you here with Nick...wrestling or whatever you were doin'. You don't want to know how suspious that looks and how angry I am at myself for letting myself fall in love with you. But I'm kinda glad because now at least I accomplished what I wanted to,I know the answer to my question. As of this moment...I'm a single guy" Brian explained. He left the room, walking down the stairs, out towards the car. Lyndz perked up, smiling at Brian, the loosing it when she saw his face.
"Get in the car" He muttered. Lyndz did what she was told, feeling guilty of bringing him out here. Back inside, Megan fell to the floor crying. Nick just stared at her, feeling incredibly responsible for what just happned.
"This is all my fault" Nick exclaimed. He walked over and knelt on the ground.
"No it's not" She choked out between sniffles. He sighed. "I treated him so bad Nick...I deserve this"
"Don't say that Meg. Your a great person..And I'm gonna make this right" Nick exclaimed. He left the room. Megan watched him leave. Megan sniffed and crawled over to her bed. She saw a picture of the two of them on the dresser and took it, clutching it to her body.
"It's not that you fell outta love with me Bri, You just realized who I really am inside" Megan muttered, sqeezing the picture tight.
