Megan took the test, not really wanting to read it.
“What does plus mean?” Megan asked.
“Positive” She replied. Megan held her stomach, trying not to faint.
“You mean I’m….Why does this always happen when I don’t want it to?” Megan grumbled. She sat down on a couch near her. Her mom sighed.
“At least you know it’s Brian’s this time” Megan’s mom replied. Megan smiled slightly. “RIGHT?”
“Maybe” Megan replied. Her mom couldn’t believe it.
“Are you trying to tell me that you have slept with someone else besides Brian?” She asked.
“Well…Yes…BUT I’ve always been safe with the other guy…Never with Brian though” Megan replied. Megan’s mom stared at her daughter.
“How did you turn out this way? Megan a man that loves you…You throw out like yesterday’s garbage” Her mom exclaimed.
“Ma….I know” Megan replied.
“No…I don’t think you do. Brian has stood by your side…No matter what-and you push him away” Her mom yelled. Megan stared at her for a second, tears in her eyes.
“Everyone that loves me I seem to push away” She exclaimed. Her mom’s looks of shame, turned to a soft smile. She walked over and hugged Megan tight.
“I’m gonna help you make this all right….Don’t you worry Megan….I’m gonna help you” Her mom whispered, hugging her.
“Why are you looking for Megan?” Brian asked. Mark looked around.
“This person called me telling me her kid was sick…I decided to come down and visit” Mark replied. Brian looked over at Lyndz who seemed to be watching the TV. Brian sighed.
“Can you tell me something? Truthfully?” He asked. Mark nodded. “Have you been sleeping with Megan?”
Mark thought for a second. “Not Lately” He replied.
“What do you mean by that?” Brian asked.
“I guess she found someone else” Mark replied. Brian was totally and utterly confused. If this Mark guy wasn’t lying, he was saying that not only had Megan been messing around with Mark, but also some other guy.
“Jason is in room 115” Brian exclaimed. Mark smiled, then left the waiting room. Brian walked over by Lyndz.
“Do you wanna go home?” He asked.
“With you?” Lyndz questioned. Brian felt hatred build up inside him. The woman he had loved had betrayed him one TOO many times. He looked down at Lyndz.
“Yea…With me” He replied.
Megan walked into the hospital, arm and arm with her Mom. She felt so privileged to have a mom like hers. She had forgiven her with no questions asked; after all she had done to her. Megan squeezed her mom’s arm, leading her to Jason’s room. Megan opened it up, seeing Mark reading Jason a book.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Megan asked. She quickly shut the door, making sure Brian hadn’t seen Mark.
“Don’t look so suspious, your man was the one that told me Jason was in this room” Mark replied.
“You TALKED to him?” She asked.
“Yea…Did you tell him about me or something because he seemed to know all about US” Mark replied. Megan walked over to him.
“Let’s get something straight…There is NO US” Megan replied. Mark laughed.
“I know Megs…Calm down…I just came by to see how the little guy was doing” Mark replied, playing with Jason’s hair. Megan’s mom walked over by Jason, giving Megan looks showing she wanted to be alone with him. Megan pulled Mark out into the hall.
“What did you say to Brian?” Megan demanded.
“I told him what he asked. He asked if we were sleeping together…” Mark started.
“What did you say?” Megan asked.
“Not Lately” He replied. “Which is true…Did you find some other guy or something? We never see eachother anymore”
“I just got my priorities straight is All. I know what I want and what I NEED in my life…And it doesn’t involve you” Megan replied. He grabbed her arm, pulling her into a hallway. He slammed her against a wall, smiling when a cry came from her lips. “Your hurting me”
“Listen Megan…You can act all hard and cold…but when it comes to it…NO ONE tells me what to do, even you. Look at you now, The so-called coldest star in the world, looks as if she might faint any minute. Your weak Megan…Don’t try to mess with me” Mark threatened. He let her go, walking down the steps. She touched her arm, rubbing it. Sleeping with him was certainly not one of the best decisions she had ever made in her life. She walked back into Jason’s room. Her mom was finishing the book that Mark had started reading to him. Megan put her head against the wall and sighed. Her life just kept getting better and better. She looked out the corner of her eye, seeing Lyndz and Brian walking out together, laughing and holding onto each other. Megan watched them and when Lyndz slipped a hand to Brian’s back pocket, Megan started to walk towards them.
“Megan?” Her mom yelled. Megan turned around. Jason’s little body was shaking. She stopped thinking about Lyndz and Brian and ran to Jason.
“Someone get a doctor!” Her mom yelled. Megan held onto Jason as his eyes rolled back into his head.
