Willingham Vacation-2003 pg2

Well, we saw Autumn graduate from the eighth grade, Robert graduated from high school and is making preparations to head to Houston Baptist in September. We had the 'Graduation Dinner'. We are now about wore out and took a day or two to just relax, while Shellie finished up her paper work at school.

Having Robert in Houston is such a blessing, and Charles and I are THRILLED about that. I'm sure we will get to know that road rather well.

Charles and I have been to the Big Trees numerous times before, but it has been a long time. They still amaze me, and I wanted to make sure the Texas grandchildren got a chance to experience them, so we took off one day after the graduations and headed for the mountains. What a fun day!

First, after that long ride, we need a little snack. The boys whittled us roasting sticks, and Gabriel even whittled us a little spreader for the mustard and ketchup.

All this takes a lot of concentration

We are ready, where is the fire?

BIG TREES OF CALAVARAS

George was our personal tour guide and he did a great job. As we approached each tree on the trail, he would read the information for us, which turned out to be a really good idea, as Charles and I were not used to the altitude, or this much exercise.

JUST HAVING SOME FUN

A SURPRISE FOR US

Back at the picnic area, the kids have a surprise for us. Not exactly one we cared to see.

WHEW!!!
Did that little bit of Indian blood show up in these guys, or what?
