We did top of the pops with marc in 1975, what a really nice man and a true superstar, i was walking back to our dressing room at the BBC, when i saw two men walking towards me one, a big man, and the other a smallish man with long curly hair who i recognised as marc bolan,
i thought he wont speak to me, him being a big superstar and me being a newcomer, but he stopped me and said "are you the lead singer with wigans ovation?, i think your new record personally is fantastic, and i went and bought it last friday, oh by the way im marc bolan" i said "you dont need to tell me who you are, ive been a fan for years".
i dont know if he did buy the record or he was just being nice, but it meant the world to me. he turned to the man with him who was his minder, and told him to take off his t-rex t-shirt and give it to me, what a smashing guy, what a waste and great loss. but i'll never forget his kindness.
