Tara
The Hindu representation of the Mother Goddess, Tara represents the feminine that resides within all of us. She represents the Earth through her connection to all animal and plant life, through the forests and mountains. Her green skin represents this Earthly connection. Tara, as the goddess of Transformation, is also connected to the spiritual, non-corporeal realm, through her blue lotus flower. It lifts her up and shines bright light upon all in need, helping them to ascend beyond the egoistic to the higher levels of enlightenment. As the goddess of Compassion, White Tara shines her light upon all in need, healing their wounds and bringing them to rejuvenation.
Tara's Mantra is Om Tare Tutare Ture Svaha. By chanting her mantra repeatedly, you can call upon Tara for compassion, wisdom, and healing.
Kuan Yin
Kuan Yin is the goddess of mercy and compassion. She is honored the world over for her kindness and the peace she instills in those who call upon her. Although there is some historical evidence that she was once a male, we see her now as feminine. She is considered to be the female form of the Bodhissatva Avalokitesvara—that same bodhissatva that created Tara through a pool of his tears. Whatever the origin, we find kindness, compassion, peace, tranquility when we call upon Kuan Yin.
Kuan Yin’s mantra is: Om Mani Padme Hum. By chanting her mantra, you may call down the mercy and peace that is Kuan Yin.
Lakshmi
The Hindu goddess of beauty, purity, fertility, prosperity, and well-being. She is considered an essential household deity because of these gifts. She is depicted with four hands, each representing one of the “four ends”: Righteousness, Desire, Wealth, Liberation from the cycle of Birth and Death. Calling upon Lakshmi will bring you good luck in your endeavors.
