Dobluth (Outcast) Rank: 0 Dobluth responsibilities: -Dobluthen are required to bow to members of all ranks that are above them and refer to their superiors as Jabbress [mistress] or Jabbuk [master] . -A Dobluth must obey the orders of any member of the Qu'ellar Myrdaruk who is above them in rank. -A Dobluth should work hard to regain their favor within the House. A Dobluth is considered to be the lowest non-rothe rank, even below Wanre, and Drow at this level must carefully decide between currying favor with their betters (in order to regain some status and station) and avoiding attention, and therefore, abuse. The outcast will more than likely be shunned, dismissed, or possibly even attacked, as whatever offense they committed probably brought shame upon the House. A Drow demoted to this rank has probably suffered from the failed and unpopular challenges for ascension or badly bungled missions, for instance--but has not been entirely banished from the House. The outcast remains as a object of scorn and ridicule. |
Orbb'd'aron (Spider Knight) Rank: 4 Orbb'd'aron responsibilties: -The Orbb'd'aron is required to bow to all ranks above his own, and refer to superiors by title. The Orbb'd'aron, however, must bow to all members of the Yath, and refer to them by title. -The Orbb'd'aron must obey all orders given by higher ranking members. Orders given by members of the Yath take precendence over any others. -The Orbb'd'aron must protect all members of the Yath and carry out all religious law, or report such transgressions to the Yath for review. -The Orbb'd'aron are the personal guard of the Yath, and the Ilharess. They are under the direct command of the highest ranking member of the Yath, when available. -The Orbb'd'aron serves the Priestesses of Lolth first and foremost, and undertakings pursued by the Yath take precedence over any orders. -The Spider Knights are the only males that are remotely associated directly with the Temple. They are deeply devout, and well versed in the teachings of Lolth. However, they must respect their place as soldiers of the Yath and nothing more. The elite Spider Knights are a feared aspect of the Yath. Nearly as ruthless as the Priestesses themselves, the Spider Knights carry out the religious law of the Spider Queen, and report to the Yath any transgressions. These are the personal bodyguards of the Priestesses, and they serve the Ilharess as personal servants and bodyguards. Often they are devoted Drada'quarthin or Sut'rinos who have found they hold more power serving the Yath, rather than a lackey of the Qu'el'saruk; often times this is true. Never is a member of the Sorcere going to achieve the rank of Orbb'd'aron, as the arcane is not a part of the Yath's agenda. They serve the entire Yath, by escorting members, to running errands, to aiding in battle. They are the elite males in Drow society, often times blessed by the capricious Goddess herself. |
C'rintri (Noble) Rank: 5 C'rintri responsibilities: -C'rintrin are required to bow to members of those few ranks that are above them, and refer to their superiors by title. They are required to bow to the Qu'el'jabbuken and the Faerz'un'arr, but not refer to them by title. -The C'rintri must obey the orders of any member of the House who is above them in rank. They are encouraged to obey the orders of the Yath and the Qu'el'jabbuken. -C'rintrin are expected to uphold the cultural norms of Drow society and help newer members to understand our ways, laws, and our enemies. -C'rintrin should also choose and sponsor deserving Wanren into their appopriate vocation--it is an honor to the wanre to be selected for sponsorship, so this duty should not be taken lightly. -They should aid in the training of the Wanren, and serve as a personal council of the Ilharess and other senior members. A C'rintri is the most honored of the secular Drow who have not been named as House Masters, and they should be the epitome of Drow. They must walk the walk and talk the talk, and they should help others learn the ways of the Qu'ellar Myrdaruk. Drow may be chosen for elevation to C'rintri after some time in the vocations, and they will be required to complete a quest to justify their nobility, this quest being created and assigned by a House Master, or, oftentimes, the Ilharess herself. A C'rintri should also be active in intra- and inter-guild politics, formulating plans and plots to honor Lolth and the House, as well as fulfill their own hidden agendas. |
Ilharn (Patron) Rank: 6 Ilharn responsibilities: -The Ilharn is required to bow to the females that are above him or of the same rank and refer to his superiors by title. -The Ilharn must obey the Ilharess' every command. -The Ilharn acts as liason between the Ilharess and leaders of organizations that are not worthy of the Ilharess' direct attention. -The Ilharn acts as the Ilharess' proxy in her absence, and he may speak with her authority on minor policy issues. The Ilharn is the House Patron, the consort to the Ilharess, and presumably the most influential male in the Qu'ellar Myrdaruk. The Ilharess selects a male from any station or rank to be her Ilharn, and she may, at any time, tire of her current favorite and select another. The Ilharn is the Ilharess' favorite, viewed by some as a leader and by others as no more than an unfortunate lap dog with a precarious position. The Ilharn must strive at all times to please the Ilharess, lest he find himself cast back into his former life, or worse. |
