The Velkyn
|
The Velkyn: The society of thieves and assassins under the command of the Qu'el'velguk are a powerful force in the House. This network serves the Ilharess as her personal tool for disposing enemy leaders, gathering information, and keeping tabs on the Drow of the House. Little goes on in the Qu'ellar without the Qu'el'velguk finding out, and this gives the House Assassin a powerful position. The Velkyn are among the most feared force at the command of the Drow and when they are dispatched, little can stand in their way. |

The Spies favor stealing, stealth, and hiding. Qu'abban responsibilities: -Qu'abban are required to bow to members of all ranks that are above them. The Velkyn are secretive and so do not refer to members by title, as that compromises them to a degree. Velkyn should refer to other House superiors that are not Velkyn by title. -Qu'abban must obey the orders of any member of Qu'ellar Myrdaruk who is above them in rank. -The Qu'abban should report to the Qu'el'velguk too learn of missions and information that they should be wary of. -The Qu'abban should participate in RP events, battles, or raids and may have specific instructions aside from the event/attack. It is quite possible for an Olplyn to be sent ahead of a raid as a scout, or even sent to a different location to be seen as a decoy. -The Qu'abban should prepare to move on as either a Velg'larn or a Olplyn. These are two separate classes in the same vocation. They should seek out elder Velkyn, to prepare them for advancement. The Qu'abban are the House Agents, skilled in espionage and assassination. These Drow train to advance as either a Olplyn or a Velg'larn. The specialization of skills is important, as it differenciaties the usefullness of this vocation. Qu'abban should be eager to show off their skills and be quick to succeed. |
Olplyn (Thief) Rank: 3 Olplyn responsibilities: -Olplynen are required to bow to members of all ranks that are above them. Instead of choosing to follow the path of the Assassin, the Olplyn focuses their talents on the arts of stealth and guile. They often become like apprentices to the older more experienced Vel'xunyrr. To become one of the chosen Unseen, a young Drow must first strive to be seen. This is a dangerous profession to learn, as failures typically mean shame on the House. Soldiers might be able to blame the commander or the plan for a loss, Mages might blame the whimsical nature of magic for a botched spell or ritual, but in the Velkyn vocation, there is no one to blame but yourself when a mission fails, and it is the short-lived Drow that fails the House Master of assassins. |

Velg’larnen are the House assassins. When a target is named by the Qu’el’velguk, these killers use whatever means necessary to take down their mark. A Velg’larn is much different from a warrior in that they dress lightly, move silently and strike from shadow or guise of friendship. No dueling or ritualistic honor-bound combative nonsense for the trained assassin. Concepts like honor and valor are chains upon the wrists of an assassin, and are better left for rivvil to fetter themselves with. Usually it is better to die than report back as a failure or, worse, as captured. The Velg'larn are trained and among the most fearsome killers amide the races of the surface. The Vel'xunyrr are the parimount of stealth and guile among the Drow. Their aptitude to take too the shadows is impressive, even among the Drow. They take on important missions, only trusted to the most specialized of agents. They are responsible for vital information about the enemies of the Drow, as well as performing important jobs that only they are capable of. They are the masters of the Shadows. |
