Craig-y-Llyn Craig-y-Llyn opposite Glyn Neath, used to have a green lady who returned to the spot once every seven years and sat on one of the rocks, making chains and necklaces of wild cherries. The Rowan or mountain ash was her favourite tree and she could be seen wandering about gathering an apron full of the bright red berries, which she carried to her favourite rock. Once it is said, a young man got captivated by her beauty and wanted to follow her; she smiled at him and beckoned and when he went to follow her, she gave him a handful of red Rowan berries. He thanked her and put them in his pocket…. Suddenly there was aloud crashing sound and the green lady disappeared. Everyone who saw this figure said she always wore a green robe, and her only decorations were green jewels. The berries which she occasionally gave to admirers changed themselves into gold coins!
