I know that OotP is already out, but I'm leaving this up as a memory of the long wait for the book.

These are the first two sentences in the book: The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close and a drowsy silence lay over the large, square houses of Privet Drive.
The only person left outside was a teenage boy who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside number four.
And here are some lines from later on in the book: Dumbledore lowered his hands and surveyed Harry through his half-moon glasses.
'It is time,' he said, 'for me to tell you what I should have told you five years ago, Harry.
Please sit down. I am going to tell you everything.'

Recently, a U.S. buyer coughed up $485 a word for a 93-word summary of the fifth book written by Rowling. Although the full content is being kept secret, they let out this "teaser": "Thirty-eight chapters... might change... Ron... broom... sacked... house-elf... new teacher... dies... sorry."
