21/03/03 Fed up with school!!!
So, since I'm fed up with school - as I already wrote in the headline - I thought I should do a little update. And because I'm already so excited about the World Championships that will start in the middle of April, I thought I do player profiles for everyone in the national team. Of course it takes a lot of time to create these pages, but I've done about half of it, they will be extended later with additional pictures but now they just look perfect for me. Sorry for the poor photos on some of these pages, I did not have better ones.

13/03/03 We are the champions!!!
That is the result of the Hockey Finals.
ALBA VOLÁN FEVITA IS THE CHAMPION!!!
We congratulate to the Guys, they played an excellent season and thank them for the beautiful play they pleased us with.
HAPPY NAMEDAY TO THE TWO KRISZTIÁN-S!!!
And of course we wish a speedy recovery to Palkovics Krisztián, who played in the final with nearly 40C° fever.

10/03/03 Second leg!
So, I'm coming with the second part of the long and successful weekend.
Formula 1!
Long winter break is over and the big guys in fast cars returned. A great thing though I was a bit afraid it would go on just as it broke off last season: Ferrari all over the place and everything turning red. (Including my head!)
Unfortunately I hven't seen any of the free or time practices so I don't know how they went, I only suspect that one car was on the pit and their times were taken one by one.
The race itself was more that interesting, I saw it in three parts, first I saw the second part, then the highlights of the first part, and then the first part in parts. Is that clear? For me it isn't. Anyways. It was great.
So, Barichello drove against a wall. He was out. One down, severals others to go. Schumi and Ross Brown made up some terrible tactics, a surprise of the good sort. Little Schumi get into some traffic in his own box and first had to wait for the tyres and then it did not fit on his car. Sh*t happens! That's what Montoya said about his manouvre towards the end of the race where he, instread of looking in the mirror, chose to make a full circle to look around and while doing that he let Coulthard pass and handed the win to him as a present. GREAT!
So Coulthard is the first winner of the season. Schumi not on the podium at all. Best news formula-one-wise for a long while.

Handball!
Fotex - Kolding 36:26
The second leg of this match in the quarterfinals of the Champions League started a bit rusty. Fotex needed to win by at least five goals to be able to advance to the next level and reach the final four.
The teams went on side by side at the beginning, but then Fotex started to actually "play" and turned into next gear. Sterbik tended the goal excellently even scored a goal himself towards the end of the match.

So, I knew about some stuff for a while, I just thought that they might be too personal to share it here on this site.
It seems to be official: Ocskay Gábor and Pálinger Katalin are definitely engaged since last new year's eve.
I saw the rings before, but I thought it is their business.
But since Ocskay has been talking about it in that Star Chat I thought it would be OK to write it in here. And by the way you can read the entire text of that chat here.

Akinek nem kellett a nevét magyarosítani...
Silye Sándor
Sille Tamás, az Alba Volán FeVita jégkorongozója. Neve alpján akár magyar is lehetne, de mégis idegenlégiós, hiszen Szlovákiából jött Székesfehérvárra. A hátvéd kemény, mégis technikás. Az életben pedig egy olyan kedves fiú, akit főként kedvenc játéka, életeleme, a jégkorong érdekel, de persze sok más is, hiszen figyel az őt körülvevő világra.
Tamás természetesen tökéletesen beszél magyarul. Engedtessék meg így kezdésként annyi szubjektivitás, hogy elmondjam: amikor először találkoztunk, mivel nevünk mindössze egyetlen betűben különbözik egymástól, felhívtam a figyelmét, hogy magyarosítsa a nevét Silléből Silyére. Azóta eltelt két év, és Tamás nevében semmiféle változás nem következett be...
- Miért változtattam volna, hiszen meglátásom szerint ez a név is éppolyan szépen cseng magyarul, mint a másik, és legalább olyan klasszikus is - mondta, amikor beszélgetni kezdtem, s emlékeztettem a "múltra".
- Szlovákiában milyen volt a magyar élete?
- Nem volt könnyű, de különösebben nehéz sem.
- És Magyarországon milyen egy szlovák fiú helyzete?
- Bár tény, hogy szlováknak számítok, de azt tapasztalom nap, mint nap, hogy magyarként kezelnek az itteniek.
Az a boldog gyerekkor...
- Milyen volt a gyerekkorod?
- Szép és jó.
- Mi volt benne a szép és mi a jó?
- Van egy bátyám, akivel rengeteget sportoltunk. Télen jégkorongoztunk, nyáron fociztunk, mindenhol ott voltunk, ahol mozogni lehetett, s ezt gyerekként nagyon élveztük. Rengeteget jártunk le a vizek mellé is, nagyokat fürödtünk. Jó volt gyereknek lenni.
- Az iskolát élvezted?
- Nem volt vele semmi gond. Azt nem mondhatom, hogy rajongásig szerettem oda járni, de gondot sem okozott, ha reggel menni kellett.
- Melyik tantárgy volt a kedvenced?
- Na, mit gondolsz? ... A testnevelés.
- Mikor cseperedtél, szíved szerint az edzést, vagy a lányok társaságát választottad volna inkább?
- Az edzést éreztem fontosabbnak, s nem is maradtam el egyetlen gyakorlásról sem. De a lányok végül mindig megvártak, szerencsére...
- Gyerekként mi volt a kedvenc kajád? A magyaros vagy a szlovák ételeket kedvelted inkább?
- A madártejet, a tejbegrízt, no meg a kolbászt, a hurkát, a kását kedveltem.
- Ami az édességet illeti: az édes életet szeretted, vagy inkább "csak" édes szájú vagy?
- Édes szájú vagyok, a húst szívesen elcserélem valami finom sütire.
- Jelentett valamilyen változást az életedben az, hogy Magyarországra jöttél játszani? Egyáltalán akartál ide jönni játszanni?
- Előre nem tudtam, hogy milyen körülmények vannak itt, milyen szinten van a magyar hoki. Aztán adódott ez a lehetőség, elvállaltam a felkérést, és megismertem az itteni viszonyokat. Kellemesen csalódtam, jobbat kaptam, mint amit ismeretlenül vártam. Ami az embereket illeti: nem idegenbe jöttem, hiszen van Magyarországon élő rokonunk.
Beilleszkedés és a barátok
- Nem volt különösebb gondod a beilleszkedéssel?
- Á, nem!
- Vannak már barátaid Fehérváron? Esetleg barátnőid... ?
- Barátaim vannak. Meg feleségem is van, igaz, ő otthon él Skalicán.
- Nem könnyű a távházasság...
- Hétköznap edzés, meccsek vannak, nincs időm nagyon ezzel foglalkozni. Ha a hétvége szabad, azonnal autóba ülök, és megyek haza a családomhoz. Kétszázötven kilométerre lakunk, ez meg nem távolság.
- Mit csinálsz esténként egyedül otthon?
- Szívesen olvasok.
- Kik a kedvenc íróid?
- Graham Greene, Erich Maria Remarque - a többi között.
- Gondolom tévét is nézel. Van kedvenc filmed?
- A James Bond-filmeket nagyon kedvelem, mindegy melyik epizódot vetítik, ott ülök a televízió előtt, és nézem. Szerencsére most sok filmet lejátszott a televízió ebből a sorozatból.
- Vannak kedvenc zenei előadóid?
- Nincs konkrétan megnevezhető megnevezhető énekes vagy együttes, minden jó zenét szívesen meghallgatok.
- Amikor megkaptad az első magyar aranyérmedet, mire gondoltál?
- Nagy örömet és meghatottságot éreztem. Bajnokságot nyerni a világ bármely táján jó dolog, de mivel én is magyar vagyok, így ez többet jelentett a számomra. És szeretném még ezt az érzést újra átélni.
Magyarországon vagy másutt?...
- Meddig akarsz Magyarországon élni? Egyáltalán: megfordult már a fejedben, hogy a családdal együtt itt telepedjetek le?
- Addig szeretnék itt élni, amíg a magyar hokiban megvannak a fejlődés lehetőségei, illetve amíg ezt a színvonalat tartani tudjuk. Ami aletelepedést illeti: igen, már megfordult a fejemben, már beszéltünk róla. Tehát ez is azt jelenti, hogy bízok a magyar jégkorongban, hiszen nem titok, ha befejezem a játékos pályafutásomat, akkor edzőként szeretném folytatni, újra kezdeni az életemet.
- Ha hívnának Svédországba, mit válaszolnál?
- Nem lenne egyszerű válaszolni, de alighanem kipróbálnám magam.
- Szeretsz utazni?
- Nagyon.
- Melyik volt az a legtávolabbi pont, ahová eljutottál a földön?
- Az Egyesült Államok.
- Ha élhetnél ott, boldogan mennél oda?
- Persze, de csak akkor, ha a jégkoronggal foglalkozhatnék.
10/03/03 Best weekend for a long time!
I don't think I have nice quotations for you this time, but I'll have some great news to compensate!
Football!
The draw brought a BKV Előre - Fradi match and the rest battles each other. Probably Debrecen and MTK, but I'm not sure. Anyways, not too rosy future for BKV. Still:

Dunaferr SE - Alba Volán Fevita (Hungarian Championships Finals, 2nd match) 1:6!
Ok, so I haven't seen the match live on Friday but we've been listening to the sporadic radio broadcast. I was great, later I1ve seen the match on FehervárTV as well. It was a good match, the referees tried to give back something to Dunaferr after the scandals of the first play, but Dunaferr seemed to left themselves in the restroom or still in Fehérvár. After they scored their first goal in the first period and went into the first break with a lead they fell into a coma and started to run amok and exchanged the puck for the Volán players and hit them repeatedly. Suffering players included Slovakian players Ondrejcik - with a blooding in his leg - and Rusznyák. Not very nice, I have to admit.
Important to note that while on Thursday 76 Dunaferr supporters came to Székesfehérvár to support their team, on Friday almost a thousand Volán supporters visited Dunaújváros to do the same.
VOLÁN SUPPORTERS ARE THE BEST!!!
BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE BEST TEAM TO SUPPORT!!!
Still in connexion with the match, the FIRST LINE of Volán scored five out of their six goals!!! They are definitely back!

I can say, on Thursday the SECOND LINE rocked, on Friday the FIRST LINE "killed" the Dunaferr defense. (The Sunday report comes later, but the Slovakian Line was the better one again, as it would be logical.) This strategy is quite good, since these lines can more or less rest during every other game and leave the dirty work to the other. Good job, guys!
Handball!
On saturday, I visited a handball tournament in my little home village in Lovasberény. the Women teams of Kisláng, Felcsút, Soponya and Lovasberény played in th elocal sport center very enthusiastically. I saw two matches, one of those was a match between Lovasberény and Felcsút - I think, but I am not quite sure - and it was pretty good. The girsl played very well, although I don't know many of them. Two players I have to mention here were excellent:
The goalkeeper: Szűcs judit - she recieved the trophy for the best goalkeeper after the tournament!
CONGRATUALTIONS!!!
Pálinger can be afraid of her if talent spotters find her!!!
The best player: also a girl from Team Lovasberény: Betti - funny enough she comes from Csákvár. Anyways, good job!
Team Lovasberény ened up as second having been defeated only by Kisláng. (They were really good, although they won only with one goal!) Never mind, better luck next time Berény!

07/03/03 The Final Countdown!
I know, I haven't been here for a while, I don't know anymore what happened during this week or even a longer period of time. I had a lot to do, and as a consequence I am dead tired and the net - out of solidarity - joined me and went dead as well. Thank you very much. I'm gonna report about past events as soon as I remeber them, but let's start with more fresh ones.
Before, a little quotation from Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, clarifying U.S. policy on the war on terror at a Pentagon briefing:

BKV Eőre - Siófok 1:1 (after penalty shooting 4:2)
With this they reached the final four of the Hungarian Cup. Congratulations to them, especially to Csordás Tamás - a defender - who was a classmate of my sister. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of him yet, but there is a chance I can put one on this site in the near future.
HOCKEY!
Last week when Alba Volán played its last match against Dunaferr I actually did not go to school just to be able to see it. After the event I had mixed feeleings. Ok, Volán won 5:3, but the match itself was not worth it. It was pretty lame, the first line did not even play and otherwise it was kind of boring.
On the other hand, I had a great time watching the first line on the tribune, cheering for the team. They enjoyed simply watching the game, they probably had a great time eating (hot-dogs and ropi - sorry) and drinking (soft drinks and refreshments, of course) throughout the whole match instead of playing. When Volán scored they, of course clapped their hands - not too enthusiastically, though - and even Palkovics came out to see the match. On other occasions Frankie, Ocskay came even if they were not playing, but when Palkovics was not on ice you normally couldn't find him in the icehall.
So this much about the match.
Volán also played against FTC on Thursday: 3:3.
Dunaferr played against FTC on Sunday: 4:5
And now, to last night's match.
Alba Volán FeVita - Dunaferr SE (Hungarian Championship Finals, 1st match) 6:5
So, we went to the ice hall in time to have a good seat, but not too many people came out early and we feared that we would not have a full house, but probably due to the midweek time and work they arrived in the last moment and the match could began.
Though I think I should report about the first full warm up I have ever seen. The guys came out - except for Palkovics -, did some stretching - except for Palkovics - and then started to do those figures they usually do - with Palkovics finally arriving. They seemed to have a lot of fun, especially Frankie.
The match started quice well, Simon scored a goal but it was annuled because he did not have his helmet on... Now, nobody argues about this goal, but I ask, how come he is going to score, skating towards Halmosi, probably holding his stick with two hands, manouvreing (I don't know how to wright it, anyways)and his helmet falls off... hmmm!
Never mind, we got used it, two goals of Voán are usually annuled during one match, so a pretty usual start.
In the next minute, however, Ladányi started on the other side, passed the puck to Balaz and he scored a goal for Dunaferr.
Now, everything is fine with an annuled goal if we are leading, but as soon it alters the result or it could alter it, it is not fine at all.
To sooth our nerves Palkovics scored in Halmosi's goal. The audience went crazy. The standing was 1:1, we started everything all over from the beginning.
There were some very delightful things happening on ice, once Szuna slipped under and/or between the legs of some other Volán player. I mean, if this hockey business fails they could earn their money with this trick in the circus. It was fantastic.
Then, due to Gröschl, Volán went into lead for the first time in the match. I don't remeber anything particular that happened here, apart from the fact that some crazy people from the audience started to throw thing on the ice. Really not nice.
Dunaferr went into lead after this and Volán could only equalize, but for a long time. Soon Dunaferr led with two goals. The future seemed very dark and unhappy.
However, in the last perion Volán was able to come back, equalize and then take over the lead just a few minutes before the end.
About this goal: I haven't seen anything, but I can make do with it. If it had been annulled it would have been a little too hairy to say that AGAIN two Volán goals were annuled. On the other hand, one of the Dunaferr goals was also not really clear, it could have been a "kisles" (little offside) so keep your mouth shut! And if we consider this and take away one goal from each team I think we all know that we would end up with the same result: Volán won!!!
Of course it is not that easy, it never is. Dunaferr protests against this result, and it could happen that - according to Népszava - the teams have to replay the match or the last five minutes. Can you imagine that? It sounds a bit stpid. I could say we "go Bush with this" creating a new phrase for going insane or doing stupid things. Anyways, GO VOLÁN. Shaow them that you are better without the "help" of the referees as well.
By the way, Palkovics did not play well, but I could say the very same thing about Frankie as well. Come on guys, wake up! It's the finals! Concentrate!
So give everything tonight in Dunaujvaros!!
