Basic Precepts of Science
 
  • MURPHY'S LAW : If anything can go wrong it will.
  • WEILER'S LAW : Nothing is impossible for the guy who doesn't have to do it himself.
  • PATRICK'S LAW : If the experiment works you must be doing the wrong experiment.
  • SKINNER'S CONSTANT : The quantity which when multiplied divided added or subtracted from the answer you got gives the answer you should have gotten.
  • MAIER'S LAW : If facts don't conform the theory they must be disposed of.
  • ALLEN'S AXIOM : When all else railes read the instructions.
  • GUMPERSON'S LAW : The probably of a given event occurring is inversely proportional to it's desirability.
  • CHISOLM'S LAW : Anytime things seem to be going along too well you've probably overlooked something.
  • THE ULTIMATE PRINCIPLE : By definition when you are investigating the unknown you do not know what you will find.
  • THE FUTILITY FACTOR : No experiment is ever a complete failure it can always serve a bad example.
