Dryads
Dryads are the spirits that dwell within trees. For the most part they are female, though one can often see the face of an old man, if one looks closely enough.
I've seen faces in trees, and wood-grain, as long as I can remember. I've yet to actually hear anything from a tree, though I've hugged enough of them!
