Red Lions 8-6 Bulian

The Lions were involved in a thrilling encounter last Saturday, which we deservedly won to record our first win in 5 games.

Previous results had been disappointing and we knew we had to get back to winning ways to keep in touch with the leaders.
The opening spell saw Bulian playing some decent stuff with plenty of movement off the ball, but being guilty of trying to over elaborate.
Robin showed them how to do it when he picked up the ball and after shrugging off a couple of challenges planted the ball low and hard past their keeper.1-0.It was soon 2 when a long ball found Andy, who had slipped free of his marker. He controlled, turned and fired past the goalie with apparent ease.

As in the previous week,Micky did well after coming on as a sub and scored with his first touch to make it 3-0 Lions.Bulian did get one back before the break but it wasn't enough to dampen spirits at half time.No sooner had the second half got undr way than an excellent, cool finish from Chelsea made it 4-1 to us.
We were seemingly cruising but as usual we made it hard for ourselves and thrilling for the fans( all ten of them) Paddy was performing heoics in goal as a stand in for both Volker and Sean, but he could do nothing to stop Bulian getting a couple to make it 4-3.They definitely had their tails up after that and began to pepper the goal with shots.Tempers began to fray among the Lions as we conceded 2 more to make it 4-5.

Tony's best performance for some time (on the pitch anyway ) helped to steady things and soon the attention was at the other end as a cross from Robin was superbly knocked down by Andy and finished at close range by me ( Nick ) 5-5
As the light faded the lions became stronger and looked like scoring every time they went forward.Goals soon came,2 from Robin and one more from Andy made the final score 8-6.A win at last.To make things better,Fritz and The Animals drew 6-6 to make things a bit more open at the top.
