As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, " Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount ? Anyway the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from God and keep quiet. " When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, " Here, you gave me too much change. "
The driver with a smile, replied, " Aren't you the new preacher in town ? I have been thinking lately about going to worship somewhere. I just wanted to see what you would do
if I gave you too much change. "
When my preacher friend stepped off the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, and held on, and said,
" O' God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter. "

Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find, knowing all else had failed him, he knelt at the base of an old oak tree to seek the one he knew would always be there. And with tears in his eyes, he prayed :
" Lord - You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed. Today, you have told me to forgive. I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't know how. It is not fair Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and I shouldn't have to forgive. As perfect as your way is Lord, this one thing I cannot do, for I don't know how to forgive. My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I pray that you teach me to
do this one thing I cannot do - Teach me To Forgive."
As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt something fall onto his shoulder. He opened his eyes. Out of the corner of one eye, he saw something red on his shirt. He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had been was a large square piece of wood in the ground. He raised his head and saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through them.
He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus hanging on a cross. He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk into His head. Finally he saw the suffering and pain on His recious face. As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and Jesus began to speak.
Have you ever told a lie, he asked ? The man answered - yes Lord.
Have you ever been given to much change and kept it ?
The man answered yes Lord. And the man sobbed more and more.
Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't yours,
Jesus asked ? And the man answered yes Lord.
Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain ?
The man, crying now, answered yes Lord.
As Jesus asked many more times, " Have you ever ? " The man's
crying became uncontrollable, for he could only answer
yes Lord.
Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and
the man felt something fall on his other shoulder. He looked and
saw that it was the blood of Jesus. When he looked back up,
his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a look of love the man
had never seen or known before.
Jesus said, I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you.
It may be hard to see how you're going to get through something,
but when you look back in life, you realize how
true this statement is.
Please read the first line slowly and let it sink in. This is simple, and important. Read on....This first line is deep.
FACT : If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.
Then you to should pray, saying :
Lord I love You and I need You, come into my heart, today.
For without You I can do nothing.

The thorns were long a sharp. The little bird saw that the
thorns were hurting the Man. It wanted to help Him, so it
flew down and took the longest, sharpest thorn in its tiny beak.
The bird tugged and pulled until the thorn snapped from
the branch. Then a strange thing happened. A drop of blood
fell onto the bird's breast, staining it bright red.
The stain never went away.
And so today the robin proudly wears a
red breast, because it helped a Man named Jesus.

FACT : YOU ARE ONLY AS OLD AS YOU FEEL !
HOWEVER EVERYBODY GETS OLDER WITH TIME !
Until I was 25, I called every man older than I, " Sir " - and after I turned 25, I still called policemen and every man with a title, " Sir. "
We were before gay-rights, computer dating, dual careers, daycare centers, and group therapy, automobiles with air freshners hanging from the rear view mirror.
Now that you are going on 21 years old,
" Did you get all that Son ? "
Now is your time to start to worry, huh ?

[ THERE IS A HIGHER PRICE TO BE PAID ! ]
You
are richer today if you have laughed, given, and forgiven.

If you think you'll lose, you've lost;
For out in the world you'll find
Success begins with a person's will;
It's all in the state of mind.
Life's battles don't always seem to go
To the strongest or fastest man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the one who thinks he can.

Not 'til the loom is silent And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas And explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful In the Weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern He has planned.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,
that you must not quit.

Yes, that is true, and something more,
You'll find where'er you roam
That marble floors and gilded walls
Can never make a home.
But everywhere that love abides,
And friendship is a guest
Is surely home, and home sweet home,
For there the soul can rest.

Today I'll work for peace and understanding
And in whatever job I have to do
I'll be more patient, less demanding
And listen well to other points of view.
Today I want to be alot more giving
And spend less energy on long-past griefs.
Today I plan to put more joy in living
By practicing, not preaching my beliefs.
Today I'll make somebody's burden lighter
I'll raise a lamp of hope for all to see
Today's the day I'll make my world
Shine brighter by being
The best me that I can be.
We will see !
