~ Why I Like Lucius... ~

Well, he's a hard character to love, isn't he?

I think the main reason that I like Lucius, is because he is played by the overly talented, Jason Isaacs. His role in the films is what made me pick up my first Harry Potter book, after all.

Lucius Malfoy, is a villain, and I tend to like the villains (if they're well thought out villains) more than the heros. Just look at Alex Krycek from The X-Files if you want an example, or Spike from Buffy The Vampire Slayer or, one of my absolute favs, Alec/006 from Goldeneye or many of Jason Isaacs' other roles (example; Hook Peter Pan, Colonel Tavington The Patriot, or his upcoming bit in the tv series Brotherhood.).

There isn't a lot known about Lucius, which leaves a lot of room for fan speculation, that... and he hasn't got a large fan base. Certainly no where near the size of Snape's or Draco's. Poor Lucius... he needs fan love too!

I will admit that, even though I was wearing a homemade Lucius Malfoy shirt to see The Goblet of Fire I had an intense three seconds of hatred toward Lucius during the graveyard scene. But this was quickly forgotten because, I remembered that he's got his reasons for following Voldemort, even though those reasons... in my opinion, are not 100% clear.

Thus, Lucius is a bit of a mystery, though you know for a fact that he's a villain. This... I think... is why I choose Lucius as my man.
