Steve Corino vs. C.W. Anderson
VS.
ECWwrestling.com has learned that this Sunday at the Anarchy Rulz pay-per-view, in St. Paul Minnesota, a match will be held to determine the number one contender to the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Regardless of who comes out on top in the bout between current champion Justin Credible and challenger Jerry Lynn, the next in line for a title match will be decided as the King of Old School, Steve Corino, takes on the Enforcer, C.W. Anderson.
Steve Corino has become one of the fastest rising stars in the business and, since breaking away from the Network, one of the most popular stars in the industry. Corino took Justin Credible to the limit during their ECW World title match in New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom, and is chomping at the bit to have another title opportunity.
C.W. Anderson, while toughening up the team of Simon Diamond and Swinger, has found time to string together an impressive series of victories, including upset wins over Tommy Dreamer and Jerry Lynn. Anderson is certainly living up to the legacy of his surname, and with a win over Corino, will earn his first ECW World Heavyweight Title opportunity.
Both men could have a mat classic or a brutal brawl, but one must keep in mind the outside influences that could get involved. Both have a large list of enemies that may look at this bout as the opportunity to collect some payback, and cost one of these two men their title opportunity. Tommy Dreamer still wants a piece of C.W. Anderson, and the Network hasn't forgotten about Corino walking out on them. Still, both men must stay focused on their opponent if they want to emerge victorious at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium this Sunday night.
So Steve Corino, who is now having his career guided by both the rugged veteran Jack Victory and the lovely Dawn Marie, will battle C.W. Anderson, whose team of Simon Diamond and Swinger could be lurking in the background. It has all the makings of an Extreme classic, with the winner being named the number one contender to the top prize in the industry, the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.
