JOHNNY'S ROAD TO WWF GOLD...
"Hey...It's Johnny Polo oops ummm...I mean Raven...LOL"
August 1998
You may all wonder how that Raven once was the rambunctious, quirky Johnny Polo? Well that was the character that led him into what he has become now-via the big change in ECW. Scott Levy entered WWF in 1993 where he first managed Adam Bomb (now Wrath in WCW), and The Quebecers. He was set to get his men some WWF gold! He also kept himself busy by co-hosting USA's All American Wrestling with Gorilla Monsoon. Here we were treated to his quirky little remarks and his shining intelligence (ok, maybe I am stretching it now...ha ha...) Well all that talent pain off in Sept. of 93 when The Quebecers won the Tag Titles from the Steiners, in a match that was under Quebec rules (see...Levy is smart). After a 5 month reign though they lost the titles in an upsetting match against Marty & the 1-2-3 Kid (now X-Pac).
In March of 94 the titles started moving again when The Quebecers regained the titlea, but only once again to lose them to Men On a Mission. Finally at WM10 on March 20th, 1994 the Quebecers regained them back! This was a great show I think, not only did The Quebecers get the gold back, but Levy co-hosted the preview to WM with Todd Pettingill. All he went on about was Rhonda Shear and the 90210 cast! It was funny stuff! He also had a few screwups as well, but if you ever get a chance to see it again, expecially now, it is such a switch from "Raven". The end had to draw near as we may expect and that came in April of 94 when The Quebecers lost the titles to The Headshrinkers. That would be Levy's last run for the gold in the WWF. Adam Bomb never delivered any, and the character did not have Levy as a manager for long. It is on to Jan. 7th in 1995 that he was then born as "Raven" in ECW (then Eastern Championship Wrestling). Even though his run was short in WWF it was really great to watch and even more appreciated now, since we are so used to the darkness. The laughter behind us though will echo on forever.
JOHNNY POLO
"Well, he probably is as good as he says he is. You know, the best there is, the best there was, the best there is, whatever that rhetoric is. But he's not unbeatable, and I could manage anyone who could single-handedly demolish him. I could beat him if I wanted to, but I'm not in the ring; I'm a manager. I am undefeated in the ring, but I just don't choose to wrestle Bret "Hit Man" Hart at this juncture in my career."
