Friendship...Or More?
Friendship...Or More?
By Bill Banks

Last week on the live RAW from Charlotte, North Carolina, the mysterious "GTV" that has aired in recent weeks took a turn from comical to a more serious note when cameras caught Test and Stephanie McMahon—the daughter of WWF owner Vince McMahon—leaving a local hotel.
As a result of the footage, Shane McMahon and the Mean Street Posse brutally mauled Test backstage at RAW, sending him to the hospital with a concussion. According to Jerry Lawler during the broadcast, Test had told him that he and Stephanie were nothing more than friends…but many feel that the kiss the two shared in the video showed more. Regardless, a majority feels that GTV was responsible for the beating Test took.
WWF.com has learned that this Sunday night on HEAT, Stephanie McMahon will speak out publicly for the first time since the attack on Test. Thus far, Stephanie has given no indication if she will address the GTV footage. However, based on the events that have transpired and her urgency to speak on HEAT, one must assume that it will be on her mind.
Within the halls of WWF Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, rumors have been swirling concerning Stephanie and Test. In the long history of our business, it has always been considered "taboo" by wrestlers to date the owner’s (or promoter’s) daughter. In many instances, various up-and-comers have had their careers buried for stepping over such a line. Many Federation employees feel that what Test is doing is career suicide…friendship or not.
As we witnessed last week on RAW, Shane is now involved in the battle—and even had to be pulled off of Test! Being the older brother of Stephanie, Shane is just looking out for his sibling and doesn’t approve of her actions with the superstar. But did he have to go that far? With the Heir Apparent now focusing his anger at Test…how long will it be before Vince steps in?
Perhaps, Vince has ordered Shane and the Posse to take care of the situation before it escalates. Just like their childhood on the streets of Greenwich, Shane and his crew have always looked out for Stephanie. Over a decade later, not much has changed other than their rise in the business. Now, is Stephanie old enough that she doesn’t need big brother’s help? Can she make decisions on her own without him?
This Sunday night on HEAT, we may finally understand just what the situation is with Stephanie and Test. Is there more going on than just a friendship? What if Shane and the Posse can’t take control of matters? Will Vince finally step in and put an end to not only the problem…but Test’s career? Perhaps we’ll start to get our answers this Sunday on HEAT!
