He learned the trade so that he had something to 'fall back on' if needed.

He graduated Boston University with a B.S. in Mass Communications and Public Relations. In 1989 he started in the ring crew, travelling around the country setting up the rings "first to get there, last to leave" working his way up the company. Shane now heads up the Federation's Internet Division, he continues to have an onscreen role and also contributes creative content for storylines, as well as taking part in the overall direction of the company. Married to Marissa.

ON SCREEN

The heir to the WWF throne, Shane McMahon proved what a great wrestler he was in 1999. The year started with Shane preparing his dad, Vince, to compete in the Royal Rumble. The day after the February PPV (St Valentines Day Massacre) Shane and Kane battled Hunter and XPac with XPac's European title on the line. DX were beaten when Chyna interfered, and Shane pinned Xpac to become the new European Champion. This started a feud leading up to Wrestlemania XV. Shane then defeated XPac at the PPV and retained the title. They once again battled for the title at the UK PPV 'No Mercy' with Shane again victorious. He then retired the belt, before reinstating it and handing the title to fellow Corporation member Mideon.

At the April PPV Backlash Shane was the Special Guest Referee for the Steve Austin v Rock world title main event. This acutally saw Vince come in to aid Stone Cold and hand him the 'smoking skull' belt back, Shane tried to stop him and Vince hit him. A mini feud developed between father and son when Shane sided with the Undertaker's Ministry and they formed an alliance with The Corporation which Shane now ran instead of Vince. 'The Corporate Ministry' as it was known was not ran by either Shane or Undertaker but a "higher power" which was revealed to be Vince himself. This led to the Ladder Match between Stone Cold Steve Austin against both McMahon's for control of the company after the female members of the McMahon family, Linda and Stephanie, handed Austin their part of the company to get the revenge back on Vince and Shane for all the pain they caused the family. The Ladder Match saw the McMahon men victorious when Shane climbed the ladder and retrieved the briefcase which was suspended 20 feet in the air.

Shane's sister Stephanie had started a relationship with wrestler Test which Shane disapproved of. A "Love Her or Leave Her" Greenwich Street Fight occured at Summerslam between Shane and Test. If Test lost he would stop dating Stephanie, if Shane lost then he would leave them alone. Test eventually won in the match which stole the Summerslam PPV and was a contender for Match of the Year. A few weeks later on Smackdown Shane and Stephanie were reunited when he finally accepted the relationship between her and Test. MORE TO COME SOON....
