Holly sat in the library of her home. She loved going into the library to just sit and read. Then, the phone started ringing.
“Adam, get the phone, Hon. I’m busy”
*RING*
“Adam, are you going to get that?”
*RING*
“ADAM!”
“Hello? . . . Hi Jay. . . No . . . Don’t fell up to it . . . Okay, Later.”
“What did Jay want?” Holly said walking into their bedroom.
Adam walked out with out saying a word to her.
“Are you still mad at me, Adam? I mean that fight we had was forever ago.” She said following him out of the room.
Adam picked up a photograph of Holly off the mantle.
“Why did you have to go for that drive, Holly?” Adam asked throwing the picture onto the couch.
“I needed to clear my head, Adam. I just needed some time alone.”
Adam walked out of the room with out acknowledging her. He walked into the bedroom again and sat on the edge of the bed. Holly followed him and laid down next to him.
“Adam, we need to talk about this.”
He ignored her and picked up the phone.
“Jay? It’s Adam. . . I think I will go out with you and the guys tonight. I need to get out of this house. . . “
“Adam! we need to talk about this fight, please.”
“. . . Okay. I’ll see you at seven. Bye.” He said hanging up the phone.
“ADAM!” Holly snapped. “Ya know what? forget it. I’m going to take a nap. Maybe when I wake up you will be more mature and want to talk about this.” She said rolling over as Adam walked out of the bedroom.
Several hours later Holly woke up. She walked into the living room to see Adam asleep in the chair. He was hugging the picture of Holly that he had thrown on the couch earlier.
“I hate when we fight, Adam” she whispered in his ear. “I love you.”
Adam stirred in his sleep causing the picture to fall to the floor.
“I love you, Holly.” He mumbled in his sleep.
Holly kissed him lightly on the cheek and walked over to her library. She tried the knob but the door was locked.
“Damn it. Why does he always lock this?” She asked herself as she reached into her pocket to find her keys.
She walked in the room and shut the door. She picked up her book and began reading. The phone started ringing again.
Holly sighed. “Adam, baby get that please.”
*RING*
“Adam!”
“Hello?. . . Yeah, you can come over here first. . . No . . .Who’s DD? . . He doesn’t mind? . . .Okay later.”
Holly walked into the bedroom.
“Who was that, Adam?”
Adam ignored her and began looking through his closet.
“How long are you going to not talk to me?”
He threw his shirt and pants onto the bed and walked to to get in the shower. Holly laid down on the bed and waited for him to come back. While she waited she fell asleep again. When she woke up this time Jason, Jeff, Matt, Shane and Shannon were out in the living room waiting.
“Hey Adam, what happened to all your pictures of Holly?” Shannon asked.
“He probably took them down because we were fighting.” Holly said walking out of the bedroom and sitting down on the couch.
“Shut up, Shannon.” Jeff snapped.
“Why?”
“You really are blond aren’t you? He took the pictures down after the accident.”
“What accident?” Holly asked.
“I didn't realize he took it so hard.”
“What accident?” Holly asked louder.
“His freakin’ girlfriend died and you think he didn’t take it hard?”
“D. . .d. . . d. . died?” Holly stuttered.
Suddenly she had a flash back. She remembered fighting with Adam.
“You always go out with them. Why can’t you ever stay home with me?” Holly screamed.
“Holly, sometimes I just need a night out with the boys.”
“Whatever Adam. You always go out with them. You never have time for me!”
“I always have time for you. Just not tonight.”
“Fine, you go out with the boys! I’m leaving!”
“Where are you going?”
“Just out. I need to get away from you. I need to clear my head.” Holly said grabbing her keys and rushing out the door.
Holly remembered driving fast away from the house. She saw headlights heading right for her. She swerved out of their path and felt the impact of the tree. She remembered laying next to the car and taking her last breath as she closed her eyes and her heart stopped.
Holly opened her eyes. She was back in her and Adam’s house. Everyone there looked as if they were frozen in time. Jeff with his mouth open in mid sentence. Matt with his glass to his mouth, drinking. Shane with his hand up about to smack Shannon. Jason pouring another drink.
Holly ran into the bedroom where Adam was.She saw him as if he was too frozen in time. His head was down and his hair was covering his face.
“I’m sorry, Adam. I’m sorry I cause you so much pain. I didn’t mean to leave you.”
She brushed the hair away from his face and saw a tear frozen like a diamond on his cheek.
“I love you, Adam. I always will.” Holly said.
Suddenly there was a bright light and Holly disappeared. Everyone became unfrozen.
“I love you too, Holly.” Adam said wiping the tear from his cheek. “I love you too.”
