1985
“AUNT BECKY! HELP! AUNT BECKY! SERA FELL OUT OF THE TREE!” Suzy ran screaming into the house.

Sera woke up. She was no longer in her back yard. Her tree house, her real house, her cousin Suzy were all gone. Around her only trees and a strange fog. Sera found a path. She walked along it hoping to find her way home although she did not know had she gotten here.
Sera walked for what seemed like an hour. She came upon a small green field. The sun was shining brightly. The strange fog that had been with her in the forest was not in the beautiful field. She ran out into the field basking in the sunlight, how warm it felt on her skin, how inviting. There were beautiful wild flowers in the field. She tumbled into the grass and picked the little daises. She made a pretty daisy chain and put it around her head. She was laying in the middle of the field taking in the sun when she felt a shadow fall on her. She opened her eyes to see a young boy about her own age standing above her.
“Hi” he said excitedly
“Hello.” Sera said sitting up.
“When did you get here?” he asked her.
“I don’t know. I’m not even sure where here is. The last thing I remember was climbing up to my tree house and slipping off the ladder. I woke up and I was in that forest over there.” She said pointing to the forest.
“Oh you fell out of a tree? Me, I feel off my trampoline. I’ve been here for almost a week.” The boys said sitting down next to Sera.
“Where is here?” Sera asked confused.
“Not sure, exactly. I do know that my body is in the hospital back in North Carolina. I think I’m in a coma.”
“North Carolina? But what about me? I live in Maine.”
“Well come with me and we’ll see.” He said standing up. He helped her up off the ground.
“What’s your name?” Sera asked as the pair began walking.
“Matthew, What yours?”
“Seraphim, but everyone calls me Sera.”
“How old are you, Sera?”
“Ten.”
“Me too. do you have any brothers or sisters? I have a little brother. He is seven.”
“No, no brothers or sisters, My cousin lives with us though. She is six.”
“Cool, well we are here.”
“We’re where?” Sera asked looking down into a small pool of water.
“Here.” Matthew said. “We’re going to see where your body is. Touch the water.”
“Okay.” Sera said as she stuck her hand in the water. As Sera looked into the water as it rippled.
“That’s me.” she said as an image of her body began appearing in the water. “but how can it be?”
“I think it is just your body.”
“Where am I? It looks like a hospital.”
“I told you. I think we are in comas. You said you fell out of a tree. I fell off the trampoline. We both hit our heads and came here.”
“Matthew, I want to go back.” Sera said beginning to cry.
“I don’t know how to go back.” Matt said putting his arm around Sera’s shoulder, comforting her. “but at least we aren’t alone here. We have each other to play with. Let’s go back to the field.”
Sera nodded, still crying some. Matthew grabbed Sera’s hand and lead her back to the field.

For days the pair played in the field. Running and tumbling. They even wrestled in the grass but that was Matthew’s idea. Then one day while they were playing tag Matthew heard his name being called from the forest.
“Matt, Matt, Please come back. I ‘m lonely.” Matthew heard faintly.
“What’s that?” Matthew asked.
“What’s What? Sera asked catching her breath.
“Matt, I’m lonely.” They heard from the forest.
“That’s Jeff.”
“Who’s Jeff?”
“My little brother.”
“Matt, Please wake up,I miss you.” Jeff’s voice echoed from the forest.
“I have to go find him.”
“But. . . please I don’t want to be alone.” Sera pleaded with him.
“Come with me. We will go find Jeff together.”
“Okay.”
The two friends walked back into the forest listening carefully for Jeff’s voice.
“Matt . . .” Jeff’s voice called out softly.
“It is coming from the pond.” Matthew said running to the pond where they had seen Sera’s body in the hospital.
Matthew touched the water. Soon an image of his small lifeless body appeared in the pool. Matthew saw his brother sitting next to him holding his hand and crying.
“Please wake up Matt.” Jeff whispered into Matt’s ear. The sound echoed out of the pool.
“He needs me, Sera.” Matthew said as Sera caught up to him.
“I need you. I don’t want to be alone.” Sera said.
“I will always remember you, Sera.” Matthew said stepping into the pool.
“Matthew Please . . .I don’t want to be left alone.” Sera began crying.
“Remember me, okay!” Matt said slipping under the water.
“I will.” Sera cried. She looked into the pool and saw Matthew waking up from his coma. As her tears fell into the pool the image of Matthew slowly disappeared.
“I’ll always remember you Matthew.” She whispered into the pool.

Sera sat and cried by the pool for nearly an hour. Then she heard Suzy’s voice. “Sera, Sera, Sera . . .” The voice came from the pool.
“Suzy?” Sera questioned.
“Sera, come back.” Suzy’s voice said softly.
“ I can’t, Suzy. I don’t know how.” Sera cried.
“Sera, I miss playing with you. Please come back.” Suzy’s voice echoed out of the pool.
Sera touched the water. Through the ripples she saw her body again in the hospital. Suzy was sitting next to her holding her hand. Suzy was talking to her.
“I can go back just like Matthew did.” she said to herself as she stepped into the pool. “I am coming back,Suzy.”
Sera sank under the water.

She woke up. She was in the hospital. She was hooked up to all sorts of machines. She tried to speak but her voice was missing. She squeezed Suzy’s hand and turned her head and looked at her.
“AUNT BECKY! SERA WOKE UP! SERA’S AWAKE.” Suzy yelled.
Sera’s mother ran into the room along with the doctor.
“Sera, baby you came back to us.” Her mother said kissing her on the cheek.
Sera started crying.
“Oh baby don’t cry you’ll be okay.” Her mom said.
“Matthew . . .” Sera tried to choke out through her tears but no one heard her.

Part 4
1991
On sunny beach of Myrtle beach, South Carolina a sixteen year old Sera and her twelve year old cousin Suzy laid on the beach.
“Want to go swimming, Sera?” Suzy asked.
“No thanks, Suz. I think I am going to get a tan.”
“Well I am going swimming. I’ll see you later.”
“Later.”
Suddenly a frisbee came flying at Sera and then a tall good looking guy tripped over her.
“Ouch!” Sera screamed.
“Sorry.” The guy said getting up. “I didn’t see you there. My brother threw it a bit to high.” He said holding up the frisbee in his hand.
“It’s okay.” Sera said brushing the sand off of herself.
“Wanna play?”
“No thanks. I am trying to get a tan.” looking down at her towel trying to get the sand off.
“You look tan enough to me.” He said with a smile.
“C’mon Matt. Bring it back.” The guys brother yelled.
“I’ll be right there, Jeff” Matt screamed back at his brother.
Sera looked up. “He looks familiar.” She thought to herself.
“Do I know you?” Sera asked.
“Don’t think so. You from North Carolina?” Matt asked.
“No Maine.” She answered.
“You look familiar to me” Matt said. “but I have never been to Maine. Have you ever been to North Carolina?”
“We drove through it to get here but that is about it.”
“What’s your name?”
“Sera. What’s yours?
“Matt” He said deep in thought. He knew that name or at least he thought he knew that name. “ I think I knew someone with that name once but I don’t remember where from.”
“I don’t know anyone named . . .” She trailed off. She did know a Matthew. She just didn’t remember where from either.
“Oh well. My brother is calling me. Maybe I will see you later.”
“Maybe.” Sera said laying back down.
Matt ran off back to where Jeff was.
“He looks so familiar. I wonder where I know him from.” She thought to herself.

Part 5
That night as Sera slept she dreamed.

Sera woke up. She was in a strange forest. There was a strange fog rolling along across her feet. She looked into the puddle at her feet. She looked as she was ten years old again.
“I’ve been here before.” She said to herself.
She began walking along the path. She reached the field.
“This is so familiar. I wish I could remember” she said outloud to herself.
“I remember.” She heard a voice say from behind her.
Sera turned around to see Matt standing behind her. He looked like he was ten also.
“Matthew?”
“Yeah, Sera it’s me.”
“Why did we come back? I didn’t hit my head. I’m not in a coma. Did you?”
“No. I think it is because we found each other.”
“Found each other?”
“Yeah. I tripped over you on the beach this afternoon.”
“That was you?”
“Yes, I knew I knew you from somewhere. I just didn’t realize it was here.”
“But why are we ten again? In real life we are sixteen.”
“I don’t know. Let’s go look in the pond.”
The pair walked hand in hand to the pond. Sera looked in.
“I don’t see anything.”
“Touch it.”
Sera stuck her hand into the water. As the water rippled she saw herself sleeping.
“That’s me in bed. In the hotel in Myrtle Beach.”
“Stay with me.” Matthew said.
“I can’t Matthew. I have to go back. I have to wake up.”
“Stay with me please. We are meant to be together. That is probably why we came back here.”
“We are only sixteen. We have so much life to live. Here we are ten, back there “ Sera said pointing at the the small pool. “we are sixteen. It is not the right time yet. I will find you again Matthew, if we are meant to be together.”
Sera stepped into the pool.
“I will not forget you this time. I will find you again Matthew. I promise. I will find you again.” Sera slipped under the water.

Sera woke up.
“Suzy, wake up” She said shaking her cousin who was in the bed with her.
“What?” Suzy said rolling over.
“I just had the weirdest dream.”
“Tell me in the morning. I am going back to sleep.” Suzy said rolling back and falling back to sleep.

2000
A twenty five year old Sera sat at her desk in the arena offices. She had moved to New Jersey where Suzy was in college.
“Sera, This is the first time we are going to be holding a wrestling event. I need you to make sure everything runs smoothly when they are here so I want you to go to the show tonight and hang out behind the scenes.” Her boss told her.
“Yes sir. Is it okay if Suzy comes along? She for some odd reason likes wrestling.”
“Yes. Here is a pass for you I will get one for your cousin and put it in your mailbox.”
“Okay thank you sir.”

Back at home Sera told Suzy about their night out at the wrestling event.
“We are really going to go? That is so cool.”
“Yeah and we get to hang out back stage. Maybe you can meet some of those wrestlers you like.”
“SO COOL! Sera you are the best cousin in the world.”
“Thank you. I am going to take a nap because we are going to be out late.”
“God Sera, You are such an adult! Live a little! Be young while you still are!!”
“No I think I will go take a nap.”

Sera quickly fell asleep.

She woke up again in the forest. The strange fog surrounding her feet.
“Here again?” She wondered out loud.
Sera walked down the path that she knew would lead to the field. She reached the field. The sun shone brightly. the flowers smelled so nice.
“Hello Sera” She heard from behind her.
He slid his arms around her waist before she could turn around
“Matthew?”
“You’ve grown up nicely.”
“Grown up? We are not ten anymore?” She said turning with in his grip to see his handsome face.
“No sweetheart, We are 25.”
“Why did we come back here again?” she said leaning her head against his chest.
“I guess we’ve found each other again.”
“But I haven’t seen you since we were sixteen.” She said looking up into his chocolate brown eyes.
“Well we must be close to each other.”
“What are you doing now? Do you have a career?”
“I am a wrestler. Both Jeff and I are.”
“That is why we are here!” Sera said excitedly breaking out of Matt’s grip. “That’s why we are our real age. That is why we are not ten years old!”
“Because I am wrestler?” He asked confused.
“Yes,” she said throwing her arms around his neck.”We will finally be able to be together.”
“I don’t understand.” he said peeling her arms from his neck.
“You are a wrestler. You are going to wrestle tonight, right?”
“Yes but what does that have to do with us?”
“I work at the arena. I will meet you again tonight! C’mon we have to get to the pond. We have to wake up.” Sera said grabbing Matt’s hand.
Sera lead Matt quickly through the trees to the pond. She touched the pond. He looked into the pond and saw her sleeping in her house.
“She is so beautiful when she sleeps.” He thought to himself.
“I am going to wake up now Matthew. I will see you tonight.”
“How will I know it is you? Last time we didn’t recognize each other.”
“I will find you Matthew. I will make sure I do.” She said kissing him softly on the lips and stepped into the small pool of water. She sunk under the water.

Sera woke up. She got out of bed and quickly changed into what she was going to wear that night.
“C’mon Suzy! We have to get down to the arena right away.” She yelled out to Suzy who was in the living room.
“Why are you in such a hurry?” Suzy asked
“ I have to meet the man of my dreams tonight.” She said with a giggle.
“What are you talking about? The guy in your dreams is not real and he is not going to be at the arena tonight!”
“You’ll see. Let’s go”

Part 8
The two cousins walked into the arena. They showed the security guards their passes.
“So is there anyone specific you want to met, Suzy?” Sera asked.
“Um . . .yeah . . .any of them from Canada. The raise them HOTT in Canada!” Suzy laughed. “ No but really I would like to meet RoadDogg. He is so funny.”
“Okay well we’ll try to find him.” Sera said as they walked down the hall.
“Cool” Suzy said “ So did you meet any of the wrestlers yet?”
“No. I am just here to make sure everything goes smoothly. I have nothing to do with the wrestlers.”
The two girls walked down the hall to where the locker rooms were.
“Can I help you, ladies?” The security guard asked as the girls got close to the locker room.
“No. We have passes. I work here.” Sera said.
“I can’t let you go in there.” The security guard said.
“You are not one of our guys, are you?” Sera asked.
“No, ma’am. I work for the federation.”
“Well you see these passes?” She said holding up her pass and Suzy’s pass almost choking her by tugging on the cord around Suzy’s neck. “They say we can go where ever we want.”
Just then two of the wrestlers walked out of the locker room.
“Are you giving these ladies problems, Bobby?” the taller of the men asked
“Sera that’s Edge!” Suzy whispered to her cousin.
“No, Edge. They just can’t go in the guys locker room.”
“I work here. I am under specific orders to make sure everything runs smoothly.”
“Let the lady do her job, Bobby!” the shorter blond snapped with a laugh.
“But Christian . . .”
“Never mind Bobby here, ladies. He likes giving people problems.” Christian said smiling. “Maybe we can show you around.”
“I know my way around but thanks anyway.”
“You can show me around.” Suzy said.
“He doesn’t need to show you around either, Suzy. You come here every week.” Sera laughed at her.
“Well maybe I want him to show me around. Sera.”
“Okay.”
“He is one of the Canadians.” she whispered in Sera’s ear.
“ I will meet you here in a half hour ,Suzy. Don’t be late.” Sera said as Suzy walked away with Edge and Christian.
Sera walked into the locker room. It was empty.She didn’t see any wrestlers until she heard the door open behind her.
“What are you doing in here? This is the guys locker room.”
“I work here.” Sera said
“Well you still shouldn’t be in the guys locker room by yourself.” he said.
Sera turning around to see who was talking to her. It was Matthew.
He thought to himself. “Sera? Why doesn’t she recognize me?”
“He doesn’t recognize me.” she thought.
“I am looking for some one.”
“Who are you looking for?” He questioned her.
“My dream man.” She giggled hoping he would know it was her by that hint.
“Well, then . . .” He said coming closer to her. “ . . .I am glad I walked in.” he said taking her hands into his and pulling her close.
“Matthew, I knew it was you. I thought you didn’t recognize me.”
“I knew it was you Sera from the second you turned around.” He said putting his arms around her waist. “ I wasn’t sure if you recognized me.”
They both laughed.
“I am glad we can finally be together.” Sera said as she leaned her head on Matt’s broad chest.
“Me too.” Matt said as he tilted her head up and placed a soft sweet kiss on her lips.
The stood in the locker room kissing until the door opened again.
“Matt what’s taking so long with that . . . Whoa! Sorry Man. I didn’t know you had some one in here with you.” Jeff said walking in the door. “Wait, you came in here alone how did she get here? Why didn’t Bobby stop her?”
“This must be your little brother.”
“Hey who you calling little?”
“Jeff! Be nice! This is Sera.”
“That chick in your dreams?”
“Yes.”
“I thought you were making that up. I didn’t think she was a real person.”
“Well I’m real.” Sera said winking. “Matt, I want you to meet my cousin. She doesn’t think you are real either.”
“If I didn’t live it I probably wouldn’t believe it either.” Matt said taking Sera’s hand and walking out of the locker room. “So where is your cousin?”
“With some blond Canadians.”
“I guess Adam and Jason found there next victim” Matt said to Jeff. Both brothers started laughing.
“Victim?”
“Yeah. Those two are infamous for finding a girl in every city we go to.”
“Great! I let her go with them. She is supposed to meet me in like ten minutes.” Sera said looking down at her watch.
“Don’t worry they are harmless if they are in the arena. It’s if they get her out of the arena when we have problems.” Matt said.
“You guys always have problems, Hardy.” A voice came from around the corner.
“Speak of the devil.” Jeff said as Jason, Adam and Suzy rounded the corner.
“C’mon Suzy we’ve got to get you to your seat.” Sera said pulling Suzy away. “I’ll see you later okay Matthew.”
“Sure, Sweetheart. Meet me here after the show.” Matt said giving Sera a quick peck on the lips.
“Definitely” Sera said walking away.

Part 9
All four watched the girls walk away.
“How did you do that Matt?” Adam asked. “You weren’t even here twenty minutes ago when those girls showed up. How did you hook up with that one so quickly?”
“I’ve known here since we were ten.”
“No, Matt, You dreamt about her since you were ten. You just met her.”
“Shut up,Jeff” Matt said smacking Jeff upside the head.
“You dreamt about her? OKay I am confused now” Jason said
“Nothing new Blondie.” Jeff Laughed.
“Shut Up, Jeff” Jason said smacking Jeff up side the head on the other side.
“Ouch . . Stop hitting me guys!”
“Stop being stupid then.”
“Fine.”
“Now, Matt, What do you mean you dreamt about her since you were 10?” Jason asked again
“When I was 10 I fell off that trampoline we have in our backyard at home. I hit my head pretty bad and I fell into a coma. I woke up in this dream land. A few days after I got there I was walking in the field and I saw someone else. It was Sera. She had fallen out of her tree house. She was in a coma too. We were happy to have each other. We were young and scared in a strange place. After we both woke up we forgot about that place. That was until we were 16. Jeff and I went to Myrtle beach. I accidentally tripped over her on the beach one day but i didn’t know it was her. Then that night we went back to that dream land when we were sleeping. I knew we were meant to be together. She said we were too young. So we left. Then last night we went back to that place. We thought it was was weird because we hadn't met again. But then I told her I was a wrestler and she said that was the reason because she works for this arena. So then we met here. Get it?”
“I think you are losing your mind.” Jason said shaking his head at Matt’s some what unbelievable story.
“It’s true, Jay.”
“I think falling off that trampoline when you were ten did more damage than you thought.”
“Ask her if you don’t believe me! Two people that live so far apart can’t have the same dreams if it is not true!”
The other men just looked at each other and shrugged.
Matt shook his head and said “C’mon Let’s go get ready.”

Part 10
After the show, Sera and Suzy found there way back to the locker room.
“Is Matt here?” Sera asked Bobby.
“Yes.”
“Can I see him?”
“No.”
“No? Why not?”
“Because he is in the shower.”
“Oh. Well can you tell him I am waiting for him?”
“I guess.” Bobby stuck his head in the door and screamed. “Hey Hardy! There is a chick out here waiting for you.”
“Thanks.” Sera said sort of sarcastically.
“Yup.”
Sera waited patiently until the locker room door opened. Adam and Jason walked out.
“Hey Suzy, want to go get something to eat with us?” Jason asked.
“No she doesn’t.” Sera snapped. “I heard about you guys. She is not going to become your next victim.”
“Victim?” Adam laughed. “We just want to go get some diner with her not take her back to the hotel.”
“Dinner that’s it.” Sera said coldly. “She is my responsibility. I don’t want to see her get hurt. You got me?”
“Got ya! Come on Suzy Let’s go before Sera changes her mind.” Jason said laughing slightly. He grabbed Suzy’s hand and walked with her down the hall towards the parking lot.
“I can’t believe you let her go with them.” A voice laughed from behind her.
She turned around to see Matt standing in the locker room doorway.
“I didn’t want to but she is 21. She is a big girl now. I hope she can take care of her self. She know better then to go back to the hotel with some guy she just met”
“Do you?”
“Do I what?”
“Know better to go back to the hotel with some guy you just met?”
Sera just laughed “Depends on who they guy is.”
“Were you planning on leaving with some other guy?”
“Well Suzy’s right you know they raise ‘em pretty hot in Canada.” Sera laughed.
Matt pulled Sera into his arms and hugged her.
“How about in Carolina? How do they raise them down there?” He asked her.
“They raise them pretty hot in the south too.” Sera said as Matt tightened his grip on her and kissed her forehead.
“Good. Let’s go We are meeting Jeff, Adam, and Jason for dinner. You can keep your eye on Suzy. And I can keep my eye on Adam and Jason.

Part 11
After dinner Matt and Sera walked out to the parking lot.
“Will you come to the hotel with me?” Matt asked.
“Yes, I’d love to. This will be the first night I can go to sleep and have you in my dreams and with me at the same time. Suzy can take my car home.”
“Great.”

“How’s your back?” Sera asked sitting down on the edge of the bed.
“It hurts some.” Matt said sitting down.
“Well lay down and I will give you a message.”
“Sounds good, Sweetheart. “ Matt said laying down on his stomach.
Sera crawled on to the bed next to Matt. She began to message his back. Soon his breathing became steady and Sera knew he had fallen asleep. Sera laid down next to him on the bed and soon was asleep too.

Sera woke up. She was in the forest that she and Matt had been to many times before but this time it was different. There was light in the Forrest. There was no fog. All the trees were blooming with green leaves and flowers.
“Matthew?” She called out to him. No answer. “This is strange” she thought to herself. “ He fell asleep before me. He should be here.”
Sera walked into the the field.
“Matthew?” She called out to him again.
Then she heard something coming from behind the trees. She turned around to see where it was coming from.
“GOTCHA.” Matt said jumping out grabbing Sera.
Sera screamed!
“Oh my God Matthew! You scared me!”
“I’m sorry , Sweetheart.”
“Do you see it Matthew? Do you see how all the trees are blooming? There is sun in the forest. Our little dream world is beautiful.”
“I bet I know why.”
“Why?”
“Because we have found each other and we can now be together forever. Our love makes it grow.”
“I want to stay here forever with you!”
“I do too, Sera. I love you.” Matt said bringing Sera close to him and kissing her.
They laid in the grass kissing as their hands explored each others bodies not noticing the dark storm clouds rolling in. It began raining.
Sera stopped kissing Matt.
“I felt rain drops.” Sera said looking up at the dark clouds over head
“Me too.” Matt agreed.
Soon it start to rain harder.
“ Why is it raining?” Sera asked Matt as they ran into the forest for cover from the rain.
“I don’t know.”
Soon the rain was an all out down pour. The floor of the Forrest began to flood.
“The water is rising, Matthew” Sera exclaimed as her feet became submerged.
“Let’s get up into the trees” Matt suggested.
The two lovers climbed into the tree and sat waiting out the rain. The rain just kept falling. Faster and harder it fell.
“ Matthew , The water is half way up the tree. What is happening to our dream world?”
“I don’t know Sera. Hold on to the tree tight though it is getting slippery.” Matt said inching himself closer to Sera.
All of a sudden Matt lost his balance and fell into the water.
“MATTHEW!!” Sera screamed as her lover slipped under the flood waters.
He was gone. Sera jumped into the flood waters after she realized Matt had not resurfaced. She too slipped under the waters.

Sera woke up in Matt’s hotel room.
“Matthew?” she said with tears in her eyes.
“I am right here, Sweetheart.” Matt’s voice came from the bathroom.
“What happened?” Sera said getting out of the bed and walking to the bathroom.
“I think it is gone.” Matt said stepping out of the bathroom.
“Why?”
“I think because we wanted to stay there forever.” Matt said “We can be together forever just not there. We have to be together here.”
Matt walked over to where his suit case was and pulled out a small box. He walked back over to where Sera was.
“Sera sit down. I have something to tell you.”
“What is it?”
Matt knelt down in front of Sera and held out the small box.
“I bought this when I was 17.” Matt said opening the box. “ I bought it for you. I knew one day we would find each other again. I have carried it around with me since then, not knowing when exactly we were going to meet.”
“What are you saying, Matt?”
“I am trying to tell you I love you. I have always loved you. Since that first time I saw you. I have loved you since even before I knew what love was. I know we are meant to be together forever, Sera. Will you marry me?”
“Oh Matthew,” Sera began crying “ Of course I will. I love you. I have since we were 10. You are my heart and soul.”
Matt slipped the ring on Sera’s finger and kissed her.
“It is still very early, Sera. We should get some more sleep.” Matt said getting on to the bed next to Sera.
“Yes, Love it is.” Sera said laying down.
“Sleep tight, Sweetheart.” Matt said putting his arms around Sera. They both Fell asleep.
This time neither one went to the dream world. They laid sleeping peacefully in each others arms, content to be together forever.
