Video highlights of various fire incidents
At the start of this video it shows some fire highlights. Like Matsunaga getting caught on
fire and his head on fire! Also it shows Pogo setting Shoji Nakamaki face on fire! Unreal.
Terry Funk & Hiroshi Ono vs. Shoji Nakamaki & Nobutaka
Araya -IWA Fire on Earth-
This was a good fire match. Probably had the least amount of fire in it thought. It was a
no rope barb wire match. It had three tins connected to the wire on each side. The tins
had coal in it which was on fire. The highlights of this match was probably Terry Funk
running around the ring with coal that was on fire in his hand!!! Also Funk piledrive
Nakamaki on some fire. Nakamaki almost burned his face on the fire trying to get up!
Cool match.
Sabu & Sheik vs. Atsushi Onita & Tarzan Goto -No rope barbed
wire fire death match-
This is the famous first fire death match. It was held in FMW. It was really short. The
fire was huge!!! It got out of hand quickly. They had to end the match. I think the ring
was burning down or something.
Mr. Pogo vs. Mitsuhiro Matsunaga -FMW Fire
Match-
They only show clips of this match. Shows Matsunaga getting his pants set on fire. Also
Matsunaga lights his arm band on fire and clothline Pogo.
Mr. Pogo vs. Mitsuhiro Matsunaga -W*ING Fire
Match-
A lot of fire in this one. This is the famous fire match between this two. But nothing cool
really happen in it. The best part was when the sparks were shooting out and Matsunaga
got thrown into it.
Carlos Colon vs. Hercules Ayala -Hot Night in
Bayamon-
This was a okay match. Nothing really special. The ring had ropes and barbwire that had
fire on it behind the ropes. Nothing really special happen with fire.
Terry Funk's Japanese fire highlights
This shows some Terry Funk fire momements. It show him blowing fire on Onita.
Beating Pogo with a flaming chair. Also show somebody setting his knee pads on fire
and he runs away with his knee pads on fire.. That was cool.
Yukihiro Kanemura & Shoji Nakamaki vs. Jado & Gedo
-W*ING Scramble Fire Death Match-
This match is famous. A must see just for the last bump. Jado and Gedo beat Kanemura
and Nakamaki with flaming sticks alot in this one. Kanemura put on a flaming glove? He
clothline somebody with it. Of course this match had the famous ending in it. When
Kanemura was powerbomb onto fire that was in the ring. His pretty much bare (had a
tank top like thing on) back was caught on fire. He went flying out of the ring with his
back still on fire. He burnt 75% of his upper back tissue off. Brutal bump for sure.
Onita-Pogo and Mexican fire highlights
It shows a barb wire cage match for the mexican highlights. Have a guy getting beat by a
flaming bat. The Onita-Pogo highlights are just them beating eact other with a flaming
barb wire bat.
Mr. Pogo vs. Mitsuhiro Matsunaga -Glass-Fire-Coffin Death
Match- (Big Japan)
The Death Match Tournament finals for Big Japan. Nothing that cool happen.
Matsunaga got thrown into a glass frame. He set his own arm band on fire and clothline
Pogo. Pogo hit him with that scythe. Pogo throwns him into coffin. Pogo set it on fire.
Pogo wins the match. Eventually people come in a put the fire out of the coffin.
Matsunaga comes out of the coffin. Not as good as it should be. But worth seeing for the
ending.
Mitsuhiro Matsunaga documentary
This is a real good thing. It shows highlights from all of Matsunaga Big Japan matches. It also shows Matsunaga working at his diner. The only bad thing is Matsunaga interviews are in Japanese (duh). Cool feature for sure.
Final Thoughts:
This Tape is worth seeing. Especially if you want to see the fire death match style. It has
all the fire death matches in it up to that point. Of course it also shows you that fire death
matches are not always that exciting. But still if you are a death match fan I would pick it up.
