The next morning, Avalon woke up with a huge smile on her face as she felt the weight of Shannon's arm draped over her chest. She was definitely enjoying this latest case, besides the not getting anywhere part. Looking over at the bedside clock she realized it was probably time for her to get up and call Reese and Troy.

She had some hot scoop for them about the case hopefully and she also wanted to get Reese's permission to tell Shannon what was what. She knew he couldn't be involved in the kidnappings. He just wasn't that kind of person.

"Shan, wake up honey. I need to get up and I can't with your arm on me." Avalon said as she gently nudged her boyfriend.

"Can't we just lay like this for a little while longer?" he asked softly.

"I will be right back I just need to go use the phone in my room. Then I will come back and we can cuddle like this all day if you want. At least until we have to head to the arena."

"Okay, that sounds good," he said as he lifted his arm. "How about a kiss before you go?"

Looking down at his already puckered lips, she couldn't resist and leaned in for the kiss. "Okay I will be back in a little bit."

As soon as she got to her room she pulled out her cell phone and then hit the speed dial for Reese's phone. "Hello," a groggy male voice answered.

"Hi, is this Reese Thomas' phone?" Avalon asked slightly confused.

"Yeah hold on let me wake her up."

Avalon started to laugh when she heard the guy talk to Reese. "Hello? Who is this?"

"Oh dearest Reese, how quickly we forget business when pleasure is so close," Avalon said with a wicked laugh.

"Dammit, Avalon. What's up? What's wrong?"

"Who was that?"

"Jeff, now what's going on?"

"First you tell me, why is he there and does he know?" Avalon asked, a hint of anger in her voice.

"Yes he does and none of your business."

"Then I am telling Shannon. Did she tell Jason?"

"Yes, dammit tell Shannon that's fine now why are you calling me so early."

"It's not early, it is after noon."

"Not here it isn't, it is only nine thirty. We were going to call you later, we may have a lead."

"Well, I do too. Last night on my way to Shannon's room, I heard Mandah Collins having a heated argument with someone on the phone in her room. She said something about screwing up and almost getting caught last night and that the person on the other line might be in charge of the plan, but she didn't want to get caught. She said you better hope that girl doesn't remember anything. Did something happen last night?"

"Yeah a girl got attacked last night outside the arena. If I hadn't heard her screaming she probably would have been taken, but I got out there in time to stop it. I just couldn't catch the guy. The one guy that was there matches the description that the witnesses at WWF New York gave for one of the guys there.

Also, the girl who was attacked said she was talking with a woman before someone hit her from behind. That is when she screamed. After she closed her eyes she could hear the woman and the man talking about taking her to the others."

"I bet Mandah's accomplice is the woman and that guy is her 'henchman' as Mandah put it."

"Yeah, but we can't be sure Mandah was really talking to the woman here. Was the call made on the hotel phone?"

"Yeah I think so," Avalon said remembering the said of the phone slamming down on its cradle.

"Then go to the front desk and see if you can find out all of the incoming and outgoing calls made to that room last night. Troy and I will go over the description of the female again and see if it fits anyone here."

"Okay, I will call you in a few hours. Tell Troy I said hi and way to go, both of you," Avalon said as she hung up the phone. Now that she had work today, she wasn't going to get to do much cuddling with Shannon, but at least she could tell him what was going on and then maybe he could help her get done quicker.

There might be some major cuddling after all, she thought as she headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
