"She is pissed. She definitely thinks we are on to her. She's meeting one of her accomplices tonight to go over the new plan. I think they might kill one of them," Troy told the group once they were back upstairs.
"What makes you think that?"
"She said something about Vince and Eric not responding to her warnings. The obviously don't care that a few people are missing, but will they care when they are dead. Maybe we should up the anti and take someone really important to the scene, a wrestler or two," Troy said. "Those were her exact words. She is completely off her rocker. Now what I want to know is why she's doing this and does Dwayne know?"
"I highly doubt Dwayne has any idea of this. He is so blinded by love he has never seen anything wrong with her. Awhile back he caught her sleeping with one of the security guys and he didn't even yell at her. Oh shit, I wonder if it was the same security guard that is her muscle now?" Adam asked.
"Probably is and if Dwayne doesn't know, should we warn him. He could be her main target. What better way to get people to listen then to kidnap or kill the most important man in the business," Reese pointed out.
"Yeah, but if he so blinded by love, will he believe us?" Jeff asked.
"He will when he hears this," Troy said as she pulled a small cassette recorder out of her coat pocket and pressed play. Suzanne's voice filled the small hotel room.
"Are you sure she's there? She didn't escape, you didn't misplace her? Shit then that mean they are on to me. We need to step things up. Meet me tonight." Troy stopped the tape and smiled at her friends.
"See we aren't the best for nothing. Has Av called yet?"
"Yeah she called while you were following Suzanne. Mandah, the girl she is watching, received a call at the same time Avalon was on her floor from a room here registered to Dwayne Johnson and from what we've seen it definitely wasn't Dwayne. Here's the thing, I don't think they will try much while we are here.
WCW is going to be in New York this weekend and so are we. I'm willing to bet that's where the action will be. But to be on the safe side, Troy should follow Suzanne tonight and then I'll go up and see Dwayne."
"I'll go with you Troy," Jason said from behind her.
"That's sweet of you to offer Jason, but you really aren't trained for this. I don't want anything to happen to you."
"I don't care. You got me into this and I don't want anything to happen to you so I am going and that is final."
"Alright then, I guess I can't argue with that.
Can one of you guys go with Reese, since she is still pretty clumsy with those crutches and then whoever doesn't go can keep look out from here and man the phones in case one of us calls, including Avalon."
Everyone nodded in agreement, while Jeff offered to help Reese upstairs. Troy looked around the room again at her new friends.
Never did she think that she would be this close with some of the biggest superstars in the WWF, let alone have them help her on a case.
As much as she wanted this case to end, she wasn't sure she wanted to leave.
Avalon let the phone ring through to the front desk again. It was strange that neither Jaime nor Peter were in their rooms. She tried Jaime's cell phone again for what seemed like the millionth time, but still no one answered.
Looking at her watch, she realized it was almost time to meet Shane, Shannon and Mandah in the lobby. She had hoped to have time to warn Jaime, but would have to try and call her later.
"Hey sweetheart, so much for our day of cuddling," Shannon said as he kissed her on the cheek. She had been the first in the lobby, which was kind of surprising. Shannon had shown up a couple of minutes later.
"I am so sorry about this. I am just really glad you understand and don't hate me. Thank you so much and thanks for offering to help. It's weird being at this alone. It is usually the three of us together, but this time I am on my own."
"Well not anymore your not," Shannon said as he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her lips.
"You aren't going to be able to get rid of me that easily."
"Good," she said as she returned the kiss.
"EEEEEWWWWWWW. Will you guys stop already?" Shane yelled as he entered the lobby, Mandah hot on his heels.
"Maybe we will, when you stop being such a spas," Avalon answered as they left the hotel.
