"What are you talking about Reese?" Avalon asked as she brushed a strand of burgundy hair off of her face.
"I know you both have heard of the disappearances over the past two months of different people surrounding both federations, well this morning I was visited by a Mr. Vince McMahon. He has hired us to go undercover and find out who is behind the disappearances."
"So what's the gig? What exactly are our covers going to be?" Troy asked.
"Troy and I are going to be going to WWF and Avalon you will be going to WCW."
"Man, why did I have to get the shitty fed? Have you seen what they have been doing lately?" Avalon asked.
"Because you're the only one of us who can dance and that's what they need, a new member of the Nitro Girls," Reese told her. "Troy, you are going to be a valet, but since you've had previous training as a wrestler, Vince plans on having you pull a few moves off and stuff. Now I know that you both are going to be living out your dreams a little, but please do not forget the task at hand. There are six people missing, hopefully they are still alive, but there has been no contact from the abductors and no motive found by the officers on this case.
"Vince feels that having investigators under cover will help uncover what's going on a lot quicker. We leave tomorrow morning, Av I will call you twice a day to check in. You are to call me only in cases of emergency or if you have found something of extreme importance. As usual no one is to know of the investigation, I don't care how cute he is or how nice she is. Blowing your cover means blowing your investigation, but I'm sure I really don't need to tell you ladies that, especially since we are one of the best PI groups in the US."
"So basically we're starting from scratch?" Troy asked with a laugh.
"Yeah we have nothing, so first thing you gotta do is buddy up to everyone and then start asking questions."
"Sounds easy enough," Avalon said. "So since you guys are leaving me alone tomorrow why don't we go out to dinner."
"Are you there?"
"Yeah, I'm still here."
"Are you going to answer my question then? What is the plan now? We have six now and they still haven't pulled the plug. People are still showing up to the shows. We haven't done enough damage yet, so who's next?"
"A little eager aren't we? Things must not be heating up as nicely over there as it is here," a laugh echoed over the line.
"Look, I've been thinking about that. There really aren't very many people left to choose from. None that would make a nice example. I will keep weighing the possibilities and get back to you soon. Just be patient and keep your eyes peeled for new prospects. I overheard some people talking today about some new hires coming in in the next week or so, maybe they will be worthy candidates."
