Falling Stars - Chapter 5
Grabbing her duffel bag off of the passenger seat, Avalon got out of her rental car and then shut the door. Looking at the size of the arena she was beginning to feel slightly overwhelmed. It had been years since she had danced in front of a large group of people, let alone professionally.
Walking up to the entrance she reached into her bag and pulled out the pass she had been sent from the owners of the company. Handing over to one of the two security guards at the door, she looked around for other signs of increased security.
"You may enter Miss Summers. Welcome to WCW," the guard said to her as he handed back her pass.
"Thank you very much," she said, sighing as she walked through the door.
Walking into the backstage area, she looked for the Nitro Girls locker room. She was supposed to meet the choreographer and the other girls there as soon as she got to the arena.
"Hey you look lost can I help you find something?" asked a female voice from behind her.
"Actually that would be nice. My name is Avalon, I'm the newest addition to the Nitro Girls and I am supposed to be meeting them in their locker room, but I have absolutely no idea where that is," Avalon told the stranger.
"Well Avalon, I'm Jaime. It's very nice to meet you. I am actually headed to the locker room now. I am the choreographer for the girls."
"Really? I guess it is a really good thing I ran into you then. It is really nice meeting you too."
Smiling, Jaime motioned for Avalon to follow her. "After the meeting I can take you around and introduce you to people if you'd like."
"That would be great thanks," Avalon said as she looked around while following Jaime. Seeing some of the men that were lining the arena hallways, Avalon had a feeling she was going to like her latest assignment.
After the meeting, Jaime and a couple of the other girls took Avalon around as planned. She was introduced to a bunch of the big name wrestlers whom she had admired since she was a little girl. Kevin Nash had been especially nice to her. She was then introduced to a bunch of the newer wrestlers, who were all very nice to her.
"Avalon, hey Avalon," Jaime said, breaking Avalon out of her daydream. "I would like you to meet my boyfriend Peter Gruner aka Billy Kidman and his friend Oscar Gutierrez aka Rey Mysterio, Jr. Boys this is the newest Nitro Girl Avalon Carter."
"It is very nice to meet you, Avalon," Oscar said as he reached for her hand and brought it up to his lips.
"Yes Avalon, it is nice to meet you. Hey James, are you two going to join us later for dinner and drinks after the show?" Peter asked.
"I am definitely down, but I haven't had a chance to ask Avalon about it yet. Do you have any plans after the show Avalon?"
"Actually I don't. I don't know anyone around this town and you guys are the first people who have asked me within the company, so if your inviting me to come along with you tonight, I would love to," Avalon said with a smile.
"Great," Peter said. "Shannon, Shane, Mandah, and a few others will also be joining us so we can introduce you to them in case you don't meet them before the show. Meet us outside the arena after the last match, we'll go form there."
"Sounds good honey. I better get Avalon to the locker room, so I will see you later and good luck in your match tonight," Jaime said as she leaned in and kissed her boyfriend passionately.
Avalon stood and watched the display of affection in front of her. Man is Jaime lucky, she thought to herself. Peter is definitely a hottie. She figured making friends with people wasn't going to be too difficult, she just hoped she could have some fun while on this job.
