Gabby's Corner - Issue #2 - 1/2/01

Hey everyone! Sorry it took so long to get this to ya. But anyways, here it is...

Ok, first thing's first. Does anyone else find it weird how Vince said all those terrible things about Steph, and then later that night, they're one big happy family again? But then again I can't say that it surprises me, considering they're McMahons.

CHYNA
Chyna will be involved in a sit-down interview with the WWF this Monday on Raw is War. She will be discussing her injuries, Chyna will star in the upcoming movie "Terminator 3" according to aint-it-cool-news.com. Mario Kasser, the director, is said to be in talks with WWF management over a possible role when filming begins next April. Apparently it was Arnold Schwarzanegger himself who requested a role for "the ninth wonder of the world." The famous Terminator actor met Chyna when he appeared on Smackdown a few months ago

STEPHANIE McMAHON
Stephanie has been added to the creative team that writes WWF television. Steph has been working behind the scenes as of late, writing some storylines including most of the Armageddon pay-per-view. Along with her brother Shane, Steph should be on Raw is War this Monday to confront Vince over his new mystery women. Leading contenders for McMahon's new love interest include Trish Stratus and the former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal. (Also, Shane is rumored to return soon, but I haven't heard an exact date, yet.) Speaking of her, Stephanie will be in an coming movie by Dark Horizons called "On Angels Wings" directed by Robert A. Masciantonio. She will be playing "Amanda, a hardened ex-classical dancer turned bartender who is the love interest and voice of sanity for the lead character." The movie is set to begin filming next year in Philly.

X-PAC
X-Pac, a.k.a. Sean Waltman, will be getting more treatment on his injured neck next week and could be back in action within the next two weeks, depending on how he responds to the treatment. However, Sean will not make an in ring return until after the Royal Rumble. Expect X-Pac to end up a fan favorite when he finally does return, though. Also, Waltman was fined by a Missouri court. Charges were brought against Waltman on July 4, 1999 after he allegedly assaulted Elias Urbina who asked for an autograph. Sean claimed Urbina harassed him as he was getting off a ride with his family at Riverview Water Park. When Waltman passed by Urbina without stopping, Urbina slapped Waltman in the chest and said, "Do you think you are too good for me because you are making the big money?" Waltman then allegedly punched Urbina in the face. Waltman's attorney, Mark Pernitz, told jurors his client never claimed to be a celebrity, saying X-Pac is merely a character Waltman portrays on television. "Mr. Urbina caused this fight," he said. Waltman pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct in the incident and was fined $178

MARK HENRY
Mark Henry worked a dark match when Raw is War debuted at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio Monday. Henry is currently working for Ohio Valley Wrestling training hard to improve his conditioning and ring skills.

CHRIS CHETTI
Chris Chetti made his WWF debut. Coming out to a remix of Bush's "Machinehead" Chetti impressed many with his athleticism but lost to Funaki in a dark match.

JACKIE
Jackie was in Vancouver over Thanksgiving filming an episode of UPN's "Freedom." Terri's performance recently on the same program was surprisingly good for someone with no formal acting training.

KURT ANGLE
Kurt Angle's brother Eric has verbally agreed to terms for a developmental contract and will be headed to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in Louisville, Ky., soon. Eric was an outstanding amateur and has been a personal trainer in Pittsburgh. Kurt Angle will be inducted in the Amateur Wrestling Hall of Fame next June in a ceremony in Stillwater, Ok.

THE ROCK
The Rock appeared a few weeks ago on "DAG." And I must say, I certainly enjoyed watching it. The Rock had to turn down an opportunity to play on "Celebrity Jeopardy!", however, due to scheduling issues. The Rock was to have his very own Street named after him in Alabama a few days ago. "Rock Avenue," was supposed to be officially named by Birmingham Mayor, Bernard Kincaid, at 2:45pm in front of the Jefferson Civic Center, the site of this Sunday's WWF Armageddon. Along with other superstars, officials, and media, the Rock was expected to be there in person to accept the accolade prior to the pay-per-view spectacular. I heard this news a few days before Armageddon, but I haven't heard if it all did take place or not, so I'll assume it did.

MOLLY
WWF officials, as well as I am very impressed with Molly Holly. She's got alot of character and great moves, as well as many fans, already! I wouldn't be surprised if she gets WWF Women's Title run in the near future.

VISCERA
Word has it that Robert Horne, better known as the WWF's Viscera, has been released. There's no word on why he was released.

BLACKMAN
Steve Blackman was hospitalized most of the weekend due to a bleeding ulcer. He wants to be back on TV for next week, but that is questionable.

TORI
Tori, who has basically re-invented herself, has been cleared to return to work by Dr. James Andrews. Tori will be taping an episode of TNN's "18 Wheels of Justice" on Jan. 4-11 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, playing, I think, a bodyguard. The show is the first original drama series on TNN and it stars Billy Dee Williams and G. Gordon Liddy. It airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m.

HARDYZ & LITA
The Hardy Boyz and Lita will be in Los Angeles next week filming a commercial. The Hardy Boyz are expected to be involved in the largest Tag-Team match ever at WrestleMania 2001. The rumors going around are that there will be an 8-man tag-team Hell in the Cell match at WM2001. This is only a rumor but it is being greatly speculated. I would not be surprised if this does happen and we see some rather large action moves. Other teams rumored to be in this match are The Dudleys, Edge and Christian and T&A.

Matt Hardy is having problems with a severely bruised collarbone (not his shoulder) this past Monday night on Raw. The extent of Matt's injury is not yet known but he still managed to work a match last Smackdown. Jeff carried Matt for the majority of their match against the Radicalz. He was also able to work the match on Smackdown this week teaming with Jeff and Chris Jericho against the Radicalz. Many experts, including Jim Ross, have voiced their concerns in recent weeks over the high-risk maneuvers the Hardy Boyz take on.

Lita has been having some lower back problems including a bulging disc. She'll see a back specialist on Jan. 3 and her in-ring activity will be limited the next few weeks.

GANGREL
Gangrel also has a bulging disc in his neck and might be able to return by late January.

ROAD DOGG
The WWF has announced that Brian James, a.k.a. Road Dogg, has been suspended indefinitely. While the specific reason for the suspension has not been disclosed by the Federation, the events that led to it took place at Raw on Monday night. The official WWF statement in the Ross Report is as follows: "Brian James, a.k.a. the Road Dogg, has been suspended indefinitely from the World Wrestling Federation to handle some personal matters much more important than his career. Brian is a talented performer and we wish him only the best during these challenging times. " He worked the Jakked taping on Monday night but did not attend the Smackdown tapings the night after. Apparently, Road Dogg went to the WWF management and told them that he wanted to take some time off to deal with his problems. Road Dogg has had problems before and has been in drug rehab. Wade Keller believes that all indications are from his recent behavior that is where he is headed, or where the WWF wants him to be headed. Two weeks ago on a flight out of Minneapolis, Road Dogg showed symptoms of a health problem during the flight. When the plane landed, police met Road Dogg and were going to take him off the plane although he hadn't done anything illegal. Road Dogg is in no condition to be able to perform on a nightly basis, and having some time off might be able to ease his personal problems.

The repercussions of the suspension are already being felt, as Road Dogg's tag team partner, K-Kwik wrestled a singles match at the Heat tapings on Tuesday night. Kwik came out rapping "Get Rowdy" as usual, but the lyrics had been changed, removing any mention of the D-O-DoubleG. With Dogg out of the picture indefinitely, K-Kwik may be given the opportunity to make a name for himself as a singles performer. Many WWF fans have taken to his high-flying offense and charismatic ring entrances.

MICK FOLEY
There are a lot of reports going around about what will happen with Mick Foley. As we all saw on Raw is War Mick Foley was beaten up and fired by Vince McMahon. The rumors going around are that Linda McMahon will return on either next weeks Raw or on SmackDown. She will then reinstate Mick and he will once again be a full time Commissioner. Also it is being speculated Mick will return prior to Royal Rumble, where he is expected to take on Vince McMahon, one on one. Of course, a stipulation will probably be added. Mick. The reason for this is because WWF is trying to hype up its main events.  The main reason for Mick taking take some time off in upcoming weeks is because the Foley family is expecting their third child anytime now.

LINDA
Last week WWF CEO, Linda McMahon, announced several WWF projects. These included the debut of a new television show called "Manhunt," and their own record label, Smackdown Records. McMahon also said that the company is in the process of setting up a new office in Europe and that WWF New York, a theme-based restaurant in Times Square made profits of $17 million in its first year.  McMahon said the company has "just scratched the surface" of its international business. . I have also received word that the WWF is planning to open a new restaurant in Toronto, Canada.  This could come as soon as 2001 and would resemble company's entertainment complex in Times Square, New York.

HHH
HHH is in California this weekend doing a Weider commercial and is feeling better. The Game's injured back continues to get better and he will definitely be ready to go by the Royal Rumble, but will probably be held out of action for a few more weeks to continue his rehab and healing. Triple H could reappear on TV at anytime but probably not next week.

GRAND MASTER SEXAY
Grand Master Sexay missed this week's TVs after his father-in-law was involved in a serious car accident in Memphis Monday morning.

EDDIE GUERRERO
Eddie Guerrero will not be at the next TVs in order to rest his groin and hamstring. Eddie will be back after Jan 1.

RIKISHI
Rikishi is likely to return to action very soon.

MARK HENRY & THE BIG SHOW
There is a chance that Mark Henry could be used as a "filler" in the actual Royal Rumble match in January, given that the WWF needs 30 competitors not including other matches for that night. Henry is VERY close to the target weight the WWF has set for him and even worked a dark match recently. Many are also hoping that the Big Show will be back in time for the PPV, however, he is still said to be at least 40lbs heavier than the WWF wants him.

MIDEON
Mideon's new character has his hair completely blonde, wearing a flannel shirt to the ring and entering the ring to Dusty Rhodes' old theme, "Workin' Man".

Well that's all for now.

Take care,
*Gabby*

P.S. Feedback is ALWAYS appreciated!
