Your host is Jim Ross. Get this man another heel to argue with! PRONTO!

You know, I didn’t really mind the show’s theme song until I heard that house band from Clash X put lyrics to it. Now that’s all I can think about when I hear it! AHH.

Interview with Ric Flair and his many ladies: When Flair needs his confidence built up, he goes out and scores with chicks. His confidence is the only part of him that’s been shattered due to all the losses to the Steamer. Next week, Ric will be facing DeWayne Bruce. Steamboat stops by to continue his role as Buzz Killington and says to Flair, “I’m not out here to intimidate you or bash your morals, but…” You know, I love Steamboat. He’s one of my all-time favorites in the ring, but I really don’t give a crap what he has to say. May 7 will be Flair’s LAST chance ever to regain the belt! Will he succeed?! All I have to say to that is, WOO!

Bob Orton Jr. (w/Gary Hart) vs. Trent Knight

Hart was going to join JR to make threats towards Dickey Murdoch, but he’s got an urgent phone call backstage. Sounds like shenanigans to me. Yep, it is. Murdoch with a bull rope in hand beats Gary Hart back out to ringside and Orton comes to his aid only to find himself punched into the front row. Obviously the match has been thrown out as Hart and Orton head to higher ground. (2:00) Afterwards, Murdoch tells JR he’s going to stomp a mudhole in Orton and walk it dry in Nashville. That’s going to be a bull rope match, hence why the bull rope was present.

Junkyard Dog vs. Ron Simmons

Teddy Long is the referee. Long gets in JYD’s face for some reason and Simmons takes advantage with a surprise right hand. These two get into a stiff tie-up and Long gets tossed away. JYD breaks clean in the corner and Simmons shoves him down for an even FASTER three-count than Long did on the Road Warriors at the Clash. (2:44) That jerk! Jim Herd is out to announce that because of this recent fast count, Teddy Long has now been fired as an NWA official. Now he can concentrate on being a manager and winning titles! CRAP

The Great Muta (w/Gary Hart) vs. Lee Scott

Muta actually slows down and starts off like a normal match, but then he rolls underneath a leapfrog and puts Scott on the floor with a roundhouse kick. PESCADO! Back in, Muta hits a missile dropkick and applies the nerve hold. Enough of that. Backbreaker sets up the MOONSAULT. (1:58) Beautiful. Can JYD slow down this awesome competitor? Nope. Neither can Doug Gilbert.

It’s time for the Persian Club Challenge! Sheik and Morgan are ready, but Sting seems to be having some trouble getting the clubs up in the air. STING IDIOT! Sheik shows him how it’s done three times. All of a sudden, Sting says he was just messing with him and that Sheik may can lift some clubs, but can Sheiky baby ‘rassle? May 7th, pal! OWWWWW! Sting’s a no good muthapucker.

The Samoan Swat Team (w/Paul E. Dangerously) vs. Greg Evans & George South

We’re JIP with the SST slamming Evans on the floor. Back suplex off middle rope from Samu on Evans sets up the FLYING SPLASH from Fatu for the 1-2-3. (3:00 shown) The Dynamic Dudes will debut next week and will face the SST in Nashville.

Interview with NWA World Champion Ricky Steamboat: He says he won’t be intimidated by the Nature Boy. Just as he says that, Flair walks by with his ladies. He just came by to intimidate Steamboat and put him over at the same time. The whole time Flair is talking, Steamboat refuses to look him in the eyes. He’s got to stay FOCUSED~! Steamboat then says that since Flair will be out here next week to show everybody how ready he is for May 7, he’ll also be having a match next week.

After the break, we get an interview with NWA U.S. Champion Lex Luger: He says Michael Hayes talks real big, but you don’t get a Lex Luger body by talking big. Apparently, they show a clip of Hayes getting a pinfall victory on Luger thanks to some brass knux, but my DVD skips over it.

Michael PS Hayes vs. Steve Casey

Luger hangs around for color commentary and to mess with Hayes during his match. A series of armdrags and a dropkick puts Hayes on the floor, but Luger goes over to make sure Hayes gets back in the ring. Casey gets a roll up inside the ring for 1-2-NO! Hayes reverses a cross-corner whip and follows in for a clothesline. Hayes dumps Casey out for some apron smashing. Back in, Hayes hits a clothesline and delivers the DDT. (2:04) Hayes says he doesn’t need Buddy Roberts or Terry Gordy to beat Luger, but we all know that’s not true. At least not the Terry Gordy part.

NWA U.S. Tag Team Champions Eddie Gilbert & Rick Steiner (w/Missy Hyatt) vs. NWA World Tag Team Champions Mike Rotunda & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams – non-title match

Before the match, Rick Steiner’s biggest female fan gives him a nice little pinwheel as a present before the match. Doc is back to wearing his Sooner singlet, by the way. Steiner hits a Steinerline on Rotunda, but then Doc gets a tag and flips Steiner inside out with a clothesline of his own. Gilbert tags and Rotunda cheapshots him from the apron for the VC to take over. Rotunda tags in and ducks low off a whip and pays for it. Steiner and Doc tag, but Sullivan is out to attack Eddie and cut his hair. Missy jumps on Sullivan’s back, but she gets thrown off and stalked by Kevin. WAIT A MINUTE! I hear “Ironman”! The Road Warriors are out and they are kicking tail! (3:19) The match is thrown out, but the action continues. Fans, we’re out of time! *½

YOUTUBE IT: This was a fantastic show this week. All the major feuds were advanced and there wasn’t any time wasted. I even enjoyed the Murdoch/Orton/Hart stuff this time around. You know, I might just an AnimeJoe and upload the whole show today.
