We open the show with “rookie sensation” Marcus Alexander Bagwell punching Paul E in his big fat mouth to earn himself a Dangerous Alliance beat down.

Johnny B. Badd vs. Chris Sullivan

Hey, its that guy from Nancy Grace! He really wants to clean up the wrestling biz. Hopefully all those appearances on MSNBC talking about doing something will help. Back to reality, Badd spins Sullivan inside out with a clothesline and cuts a promo about winning the Light Heavyweight belt back from Jushin Liger because that belt is so pretty! High Knee and the TOOTY FROOTY PUNCH puts Sullivan away. (1:32) Johnny B. Badd beating Jushin Liger…hahahahaha.

Eric Bischoff meets with the returning Ron Simmons. He’s been out with a wrist injury, you know. Today, he goes up against WCW World TV Champ “Stunning” Steve Austin!

We cut to a recent episode of WCW Main Event where “rookie sensation” Marcus Alexander Bagwell from Sprayberry Hi Skewwel (good one, Nick) pinned some jobber with a fisherman’s suplex. After the match, JR meets with Bagwell for an interview, but Paul E interrupts to offer Bagwell a TV title match with Steve Austin. Bagwell refuses, because he doesn’t feel like he’s ready yet. IDIOT! Paul E responds by saying that people who refuse offers from the Dangerous Alliance receive broken bones. Bagwell mentions that he’s been training with Sting and that just gets Paul E’s blood boiling. Paul E gets in Bagwell’s face, so he punches Paul in the face and gets his “rookie sensation” self BEAT by the Dangerous Alliance. Crowd wants Sting, and they finally get him to come out and help. He’s all successful until Rick Rude nails him from behind and rams Sting into the guardrail! Rude tries to mess up Sting’s knee some more by beating it with a leg cast made of plaster (Paul E had one earlier when he mentioned breaking peoples bones, one just didn’t randomly appear). Barry Windham finally comes in to check on Sting AFTER the damage had been done.

Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Chuck Coates & Zan Panzer

This is Scott’s first match back on Worldwide since his bicep injury. Zan Panzer is just some pink-masked jobber billed from Europe. No country in particular, he just makes the whole continent of Europe his home. Scott basically dominates the match. He delivers a fireman’s carry drop off the middle-rope and then makes Coates tag in Panzer. After a tilt-a-whirl slam, the Steiners finish off Panzer with a STEINER DDT (Scott delivers a DDT off Rick’s shoulders). (3:07) We’re calling it the Steiner DDT. If you don’t like the name…well It’s so dangerous, they didn’t do it that often anyway.

Let’s meet up with Gordon Solie for the latest edition of WNN! He announces that Jushin Liger has defeated Brian Pillman for the Light Heavyweight title back on Christmas night in the Omni, but we’ll have to wait until next week to see any footage of that match. He briefly mentions something about some problems between Terrence Taylor and Alexandra York, but Gordon would REALLY rather talk about the Young Pistols heel turn. The rivalry between the Young Pistols and the WCW Patriots called for a “Losers are banned from WCW Pro for 60 days” match, which the Patriots lost. During a recent episode of WCW Pro, the Young Pistols got in some post-match punishment on some jobbers, so the Patriots jumped the rail to avenge the poor saps, and STILL got their all-American booties beat. Gordon wraps up this segment by mentioning this new team of Mr. Hughes and Vader are looking to go through the Steiners to get to the WCW World tag team titles. Man, this tag scene is HOT!

Cactus Jack & Mr. Hughes vs. The Patriots

What’s this, Mr. Hughes? No shades? Not sure if Cactus is subbing for Vader or what here, but this team doesn’t make much sense other than they’re two heels. Champion starts off with Jack. They do a shoulderblock-off, but then Champion blocks a kick and gets met with a clothesline. Champion power-lifts Cactus off the cover and lets Hughes tag. Hughes misses a corner charge and gets his arm twisted on, but brings Chip over to his corner for a tag. Cactus tosses Chip and tries to come off the wrong side of the apron and gets nailed by Champion. He’s double-teamed on the floor. Back in, Cactus squeals and chokes on Chip in the corner and tags in Hughes for some stiffing. Champion gets drawn in for Cactus to throw Chip over the top rope for a Cactus legdrop off the apron. Back in, Chip comes back and makes the hot tag to Champion. Pier-six erupts and Champion connects with his JUMPING BACK ELBOW on Cactus, but Hughes breaks up the pin with an elbow drop and puts Cactus on top for 1-2-3. (6:23) Run-of-the-mill stuff. ¾*

WCW World Television Champion Steve Austin (w/Paul E. Dangerously) vs. Ron Simmons

Simmons works a headscissors for a LONG time. I mean, he will not let Austin get away from his nether regions. He finally gets in the ropes for the break. Austin goes low to take over, but gets nailed with a shoulderblock. Simmons returns to the headlock while Paul E talks on his phone. Austin shoves off, but he’s caught off a crossbody and given a taste of his own medicine with a hotshot. Austin dumps Simmons temporarily and goes to work on the recently injured wrist. Paul E takes a moment to stop talking on his phone to BASH Simmons in the wrist with it! Simmons tries to punch back at Austin, but that involves using your wrist, you dummy! Austin leaps off the middle-rope, but he’s caught with a Powerslam for 1-2-NO! They trade blows, but Simmons still hits the SPINEBUSTER! Paul E’s got the ref distracted as Bobby Eaton runs in and hits Simmons with the ALABAMA JAM! What? Paul E hops off the apron and the ref Mike Atkins turns around and sees Eaton in the ring, so he DQ’s Austin. (7:13) Ricky Steamboat runs in for the save, followed by Arn Anderson to help Bobby, who’s followed by Dustin Rhodes to help Steamboat, who’s followed by Larry Zbyszko to help Arn, who’s followed by Barry Windham to help Dustin! It’s BREAKIN’ LOOSE IN ATL! Solid match, but there’s only so much you can do to a guy’s wrist. *½

We now go to Eric Bischoff who is standing by with Terrence Taylor. The reason he ended his relationship with the York Foundation was because he kept losing matches and therefore, losing money. He still hates all the wrestling fans though.

Coming up next week, we’ve got Bobby Eaton, Arn Anderson and Steve Austin taking on Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat and Ron Simmons! Heck yeah!

Final Thoughts: Another week where the WCW World Champion Lex Luger doesn’t exist. The Dangerous Alliance/Sting’s friends feud is going great though, so it actually doesn’t bother me.
