Cactus Jack is back!
The most demented of the "Three Faces of Foley" has returned! Saying that Mankind just wasn't ready for a street fight, Mick Foley ripped off his mask and his dress shirt to reveal the infamous Cactus Jack T-shirt! The fans went nuts as Foley's attitude shifted from "Have a nice day!" to "I'm going to kick your @#$!!!"
Considering all that Foley has been through lately, the change shouldn't be a surprising one. After all, Mankind is the comic everyman, and Foley's other persona - Dude Love - is the hippie chick magnet. Cactus Jack seems to be the only persona capable of the kind of violence necessary at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 23.
The "Cactus Jack" character has been around for years. In his best-selling book, "Have a Nice Day," Mankind explains how he first got the name:
"I wanted to be Dude Love," writes Foley, "but I knew that I just didn't have the experience or the talent to be Dude Love yet … In the meantime, I needed another name … I thought back to a wrestling fantasy game that I had ordered a few years earlier, in which I had been Mick 'Big Train' Foley, and my dad had been Cactus Jack … so when [ring announcer] Hank [Hudson] asked me my name, 'Cactus Jack' was the answer that came out.
