*Note* I will be adding the rest of the updated
biography sometime soon, as I write it & get all
of my facts correct. So far I've got the most
"important" things that happened up until 1997

Wrestling has always been in Jeff Jarrett's history, more so than most because his father Jerry Jarrett was a longtime promoter, the chances were that Jeff would become a wrestler, and so did, Jeff made his pro wrestling debut in 1986 against Tony Falk. After wrestling had become a part of Jeff's life, he started out by winning the WCCW light-heavyweight title, shortly after that he moved on the the USWA where he became one of USWA's most well-known and popular stars. He had a record behind him, winning the USWA tag team titles with assorted partners eleven times, three times with Tennessee Lee, twice with both, Matt Borne, Jeff Gaylord & Jerry Lawler, and once with both, Brian Christophers & Cody Michaels. Not to mention he won the USWA heavyweight belt three times between 1993 and 1996.

Jeff Jarrett's career rocketed when he entered the WWF, making his debut in 1994, with a gimmick coming from his Tennessee roots, "The world's greatest singer, entertainer & wrestler", not long after that, he released the song "With My Baby Tonight", which sturred up a lot of questions, more so later on, when it was revealed that Jeff's manager "The Roadie" (Road Dogg) Jesse James was the actual singer. The Roadie and Jarrett were working together well, allowing Jefft to win the Intercontinental title from Razor Ramon in late 1995. Razor Ramon & Jeff Jarrett passed the title around several times, until July 23rd 1995 when he lost the belt to Shawn Michaels, and disappeared from the WWF.

After a while of missing from the WWF, Jarrett returned in early 1996, the cause of his absence was "supposedly" the result of conflicts between himself and Vince McMahon. Jeff began a feud with Ahmed Johnson that lasted a short while, and as quick as he left the first time, he had abandoned the WWF once more.

Throughout 1996 a majority of the WWF's wrestlers were heading to WCW, along with them, in late 1996, Jeff Jarrett left also.

In WCW Jeff won the U.S title, but wasn't happy with the situation, WCW had plans for Jarrett, but he ended up playing the role of a jobber more than anything else.

When his WCW contract ended in 1997, he went back the the WWF, only this time with a new gimmick & a totally different attitude. He no longer wanted to be addressed as Double J, and decided to ditch the country music star gimmick.

Shortly after his WWF return he went up against Barry Windham for the New National Wrestling Alliance North American Title, Jarrett defeated Windham & became the champion. He also became part of an NWA stable in the WWF that included Windham, Rock n' Roll Express and Jim Cornette. Jarrett wasn't pleased with the NWA stable gimmick, and it wasn't pushing his career any higher, so he forfeited the NWA N.A title, and left the NWA gimmick behind altogether. Soon after he brought back the Double J gimmick along with a new manager Tennessee Lee.
