Welcome to the first edition of THA GAME COLUMN by THA CHOSEN ONE.

Volume 1, Issue 1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, well, well, what do ya know, how can it be? IM here on Wrestle2K1 and I own my own site The Game Central, how can that be? (lol, just kiddin, that's alittle Vinnie Mac humor.

But anywayz, whatz on my agenda this month? Well, the sale of WCW to WWF is one topic on my mind. The other topic on my mind is the re-launch of my site TGC. So I guess I can start with this crazy situation that WCW is in.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it looks like wrestling isn't going to be that same, I guess ill tell yall how this chapter of wrestling all went down.

OK, Fuscient and Eric Bischoff had a conference call with the people at FOX to possibly buy WCW and move programming to FOX's cable affiliates. FOX is very interested in launching a wrestling promotion on it's cable networks as it has seen what WWF has done to TNN's ratings. So, don't look for WWF to be only wrestling promotion for long. If the WCW deal doesn't go through, FOX might just start their own wrestling promotion.

Then after that Fuscient officially announced that they have pulled out of negotiations for the sale of WCW. They released the following statement: "Fusient Media Ventures has terminated its efforts to purchase the WCW as a result of the decision by Turner Broadcasting Systems to no longer carry wrestling programming on its networks.

And now the WWF is the prime negotiator in the bidding for WCW. I have heard that WWF is indeed interested in having WCW run as a separate promotion. They want to buy the name, logo, wrestlers and possibly the tape library.

Now the WWF and Time Warner execs have come to an agreement. The deal hasn't been announced, but many insiders say it has already been completed!

What did the WWF buy? WWF have bought the name WCW, the tape library and some wrestlers...but not all. WWF did not buy any of the big name big money contracts. Time Warner still owns those contracts and will likely buy out the contacts for a lump sum of money. Then, those released wrestlers can talk to the WWF and renegotiate their deals. Booker T, Goldberg and DDP are who the WWF are really looking at. It has been reported that the WWF is not interested in signing Scott Steiner due to his behavioral problems. I know what they mean.

But all signs point to the show being broadcast on TNN. There are many conflicting reports. Some are saying that the WCW will just fill the slots of the current WWF weekend shows (Live Wire and Superstars, possibly Heat) while others are saying that WCW will have a taped show on Wednesday nights, and ive read that it will be on Saturday from 11pm to 1am. Man I hope that they find a better time slot, cuz who is going to say up from 11 to 1 to watch wrestling? (ill tape it though)

Some reports are saying that there will be an angle with Shane McMahon, where he will leave the WWF and re-start WCW. Others are saying that WWF doesn't want to make it seem obvious that they own it, so they might plug it a few times on RAW and then make no mention other than in advertisements during WWF programming.

After all this went down and the deal is official, a few nights later on a Monday where its WCW last broadcast of Nitro, we see Vince McMahon open up a Nitro telling us how WCW's future is all in his hand and this and that. We seen a simucast on Raw and Nitro where Vince had his comments to say, and to see Shane McMahon on Nitro. Man that went down as one of the best night of wrestling in history. And here we are now waiting on WCW to re-launch.

Speaking of RE-LAUNCH IM re-launching my own site if you haven't read yet called The Game Central IM going to tell you alittle history about my site and how it progressed in to one of the viewers best site of wrestling websites.

Well, first year of The Game Central has passed us and now its time for a change. TGC started on March 7th 2000, and it wasn't always named The Game Central. Formally called The Nitraws Wrestling Website or TNWW that was hosted on Create Uh Page.com I thought it was getting alittle old or stale for me. I was the only staff member on the site at the time and I think I was doing a fairly good job, but I noticed not a lot of people were viewing my page, there were viewers but not a lot. So I had a plan, I promoted my site a lot and got a lot of visitors. So then I decided to do the first re-launch to Angelfire.com, where I changed the name to The Game Central. I had two of my friends to help me out on the site to make it what it is today and I thank them for that, but they lost interest in it so I was alone again and still am. And I going to do this second re-launch to prove that I can do it all by myself and I know that i cant be the best, but I can be something different! (and that's how i got the catch phrase for TGC).

But enough about my site IM here to write a column for Wrestle2k1 and I think IM about finnish and now I can save it and put it up for all of you to read it, so thanx for reading. ~THA CHOSEN ONE~
