The Big Sky Mission Statement The Big Sky is a fantasy wrestling organization. We pledge to bring our players the best possible and most fun place to roleplay a character. The Big Sky is a primarily roleplay based federation, meaning that your roleplaying is the biggest part of how your character is judged against other characters and will be the biggest influence in your career. Strats are useful, but are usually considered very little in the outcome of a match. There are cases when the outcome of a match is determined because of an ongoing angle or another upcoming match, but to reiterate, your roleplaying is the main driver in your character's career here. We hope that you will have the fun in the Big Sky, competitive fun, but still fun. We just ask that handlers understand that this is a game and not take anything said on the roleplay board or done to your character on a show personally. We strive to make this the most fair league that you will run a character in, please give us some leeway in how the matches are determined. A loss is not the end here, it may be a beginning of something even more exciting, but always strive to win. |
A)
All characters must be original. This
means: No Stingers, no Foley's, no Big Daddy Anything's, no Showstoppers.
1)
Catch-phrases are fine, but they also must be an
original idea. If you smell what the BSWF is cookin'!
B)
A player must roleplay at least once a week, but no more than 4 times per week. Put something into your roleplays, come with something to
say. No one wants to hear from you 15 times a day, one line at a
time. Use your space wisely, put some thought into it. You can only
use your character or the characters you
handle in a roleplay, do not ever use another character without their consent on
a roleplay. It will be deleted and you will be suspended for up to a
month. But, if you are starting heat, letting another handler use your
character in a roleplay is a good way to get interest going. Be sure to
use this tool when possible.
1) Strats are also due at
least 1 day before the match is posted, or as posted. This gives us time
to write the matches well. With only one match a week to start off with,
this should give us both time to feel the talent out. Additions after the
due date may or may not get involved in the matches. You may not do a
strat, your match will still get written and you may win, but it just may not
turn out the way you would have hoped. Remember,
we are also a driving force in your character's
career, do not get upset when a match is not word for word your strategy.
The other talent has also has a strat for the match turned in to us.
2)
Run-ins are always available, but must be done on
TV. Never include a run-in on your roleplay even if your roleplay occurs
on TV without the other's wrestler's permission & please email the prez.
before it happens. Beware! To cut out multiple run-ins and every match ending in a DQ your
character very well could get the short end of the stick from one or both of the
other participants. It's the chance you take.
3)
Roleplays can take place almost anywhere. Yes, they
can happen at mythical cards, we believe this helps the handler's better
show the reaction of the crowd to their wrestler. If you would like to
have your wrestler have an interview at a card, please email me your roleplay at
least 1 day before the posting, and I will gladly post it with the final
results. Beware again, someone may be lurking when you do such and
interview, but your character is more likely to be rewarded by doing such an
interview in the end.
3a)
The walk way is much like the WWF entrance area.
You can use a video and audio and the entranceway leads to the ring down a small
ramp. The screen has a truss along the sides that can be climbed on
and used as well.
4) Roleplays can be as long or as short as you need.
Don't be shy to do a short interview as long as it
has something to it, don't be shy to take up space, again go somewhere with it,
don't ramble.
5)
Swearing in roleplays is allowed to an extent. Use common sense, don't use words that would offend other
handlers, or couldn't be used around children. Belligerent use of swearing
will result in your posting being erased.
C) Please email the president with match proposals, stipulations, and anything else you believe would enhance the alliance. This is your league too, be involved.
D)
You may lose a match. Don't be discouraged,
don't get angry, just do your best and stick with it. Perseverance makes
champions. Don't bitch to the board, trust me it won't help.
Suggestions are always wanted, whining is never heard.
1) (See Bottom of page) You are a champion for a
reason, you have earned your belt, but your not
done there. Any person receiving a belt in the BSWF should wear it with pride, you have out-roleplayed
the best in the business! Your job is not done, you now have the
responsibility that comes with the gold, you must draw heat for that belt, and
be willing to lose it. You will not be able to retire the champion, even
if you decide to leave, you will lose your belt to someone. Wearing the
gold is a privilege, not a right, and every defense of the gold is a great
honor, you must fight just as hard to keep your belt as you did to earn it.
E)
Your first contract with the BSWF is only two weeks, unless otherwise agreed to
before hand. After your wrestler's name on
the roster page will be your contract termination date. You will then be
asked to stay or given the thank you very much, please try again speech.
You will more than likely not get any sort of title match
during your interim period. You may, but don't get discouraged, make the
best of your early or mid-card feud. Show us why we should keep you as a
superstar. Don't come in on your first interview by saying I want this
belt or this belt, or try to start heat with a belt holder. More than
likely they won't give you the time of day until you have proved yourself.
They have the experience enough to gain a belt, give them and our league that
respect.
F) The Board always wins, and its' decisions are always final. We just want this league to be fun for everyone. We don't want an Out of character board filled with bitching and infighting. Suspensions will be held to, although roleplays from that character will not be erased.
E) Out of character stuff belongs on the OOC board. Roleplays are for the roleplay board.
G) We hope you have the most fun that you have ever had in efed wrestling. We would not put our time or yours into this if that wasn't the ultimate goal. Take nothing personally. It's just heat between character's, nothing more nothing less. We all like a little verbal sparring within friends. Take it as that!
Things to remember when roleplaying
Being a Champion in the Big Sky and What that Means. |
To get a title shot in the Big Sky is an honor and not given out generously. So don't think you are going to jump into our federation and challenge a title holder for a belt. They will ignore you and we will not be happy with you. A champion is an honor, they are our elite roleplayers, they are the best and they deserve your respect. If you are a newcomer and you ask to attack a champion, you will more than likely get squashed. It takes hard work to become a champ, and if we let anyone, no matter how huge you were somewhere else, just come out and make our guys look bad then it makes the fed look inferior. It also disrespects the others that have put in time in the fed. If you stick with us and impress us you will get your fair shot, we just ask that you respect the veterans and especially someone with a belt. Your time will come when you are the person getting this respect. We give out title shots to wrestlers who we think are deserving and will give the champion a run for his money. Remember, you are now in a title situation, this should make your roleplays even better than what they were to get to this shot. We are counting on you to step up to the challenge. Incumbent champions will always have the benefit of the doubt on their side. It's harder to get a belt off of a person than it is to keep it. You have become a champion in the Big Sky. What does that mean? Well, it means that you are one of the elite roleplayers in the federation and the Council has given you a title match in which you have outroleplayed the reigning champion. Why is that important? Well, it is important because now you have a responsibility to the Federation to be a good champion. Being a champion is the beginning, we think you are an elite roleplayer, now you have a job to do in the Federation. We expect our champions to not only roleplay on a higher level, but to draw heat and get other's involved just by being champion. Champions make other people play at a higher level, we want our champs to do just that. You will not be able to leave a champion! It's not going to happen so don't ask. If you want to end your character's career here, you will have to lay down the title to the next contender in a match. It's not fair for the other wrestler's who have worked so hard to get a shot just to have one person win and quit. It doesn't happen in real life and it doesn't happen here! (See Mike Awesome for any questions.) Being a champion means that you understand this game and understand that you will more than likely lose your belt sometime. Just remember where you were and how to get back, because being a former champion has it's privileges and respect. There is always another belt or rematch to work towards. There are no superstars, nobody in the league is the greatest of all time. Nobody will ever get to the icon status of being able to roleplay once a month and jump into a main event or a title match. You want to play, you work. I've been in too many feds where there are superstars that come out when they want and get whatever they want just because they are huge in that league. You work always or you lose. I don't think these are anything more than ways to make things fair for everyone. They are pretty simple and common sense, and you shouldn't lose sleep over them. Thanks!
