Skittles Under The Rug

PART 2

Matt suddenly awoke, breathing heavily. He'd just had a nightmare where Amy was a dragon and had tried to eat his brother. Matt moaned and rolled over, his head feeling like it'd been split into two. He noticed the aspirin and water next to the bed and quickly swallowed it down. He glanced at the clock and noticed it was about Nine o'clock. How long have I been asleep? He wondered. He suddenly noticed Jeff wasn't in the room. He tried to sit up, but his head was throbbing so badly, he had to lay back down. Great, he thought, I drank myself stupid and came back acting like a total ass. He laid on the bed for another twenty minutes fitfully trying to sleep, but to no avail. Maybe I could get to the ice machine and get me some nice cold crushed ice, he thought. He stood up and swayed a bit from the pain in his head. It slowly became a dull thud and he stumbled to the door where his jacket was. He threw it on, and began the trek to the ice machine. It was on the next level, but right now, it felt like it was on the next planet. Maybe this was a bad idea, he thought, feeling as though he was going to vomit. He steadied himself against the wall and clutched his stomach. Suddenly, a cute perky redhead appeared beside Matt and asked, "excuse me, sir, are you all right?" He looked up, and the green eyes of the redhead flashed with recognition. "Hey! You're Matt Hardy." She said, almost gleefully. "Yeah," he moaned. She suddenly remembered why she came up to him in the first place, "well, are you all right? You look terrible." He moaned again, clutching his stomach tighter. He didn't want to inform the cute redheaded stranger that he felt like spewing all over the hallway, but luckily he didn't have to. "Would you like me to help you back to your room?" She asked, clearly concerned. He nodded, his head still hanging low from the waves of nausea. She put her arm around his waist and let him lean on her. He felt a little tingle in his stomach, which he knew wasn't just from the nausea.

Back in the Hardys room, Matt's nausea had subsided, after throwing up twice in the bathroom. The cute redhead hadn't abandoned him after helping him into his room; instead she had stayed with him, holding his hair back while he threw up. She assisted him onto the bed and was now getting a cold compress for his forehead from the bathroom. Matt felt like such a fool. He had liked this girl from the moment she had began helping him and now he knew there was no way she'd agree to go out with him after seeing him upchuck all over the hotel bathroom. She walked back in the room, her green skirt gently swaying back and forth as she walked. He closed his eyes, and she gently leaned over him laying the compress on his forehead. She assumed he was asleep, so when he opened his eyes she was startled. "Hey, I see you're looking a lot better. My work here is done," she said, smiling. "What?" Matt asked, not expecting her to get ready to leave. "Don't leave," he said. "I want to know your name." She smiled and sat down on the edge of the bed. "My name's Jennifer. Jennifer Johnson." "Jennifer," he said, liking the way her name sounded on his lips, "thank you for being my Angel. If it wasn't for you, I fear I would have threw up all over that hallway." She laughed, and to Matt it sounded like sliver bells. "It's not a problem, Matt. I probably should be going, where is your brother, Jeff?" She asked, while standing up. "He's with his girlfriend, the hoe." Matt answered bitterly. Jennifer was startled. "Isn't he dating that Lita bitch?" She asked. "Yup." Matt replied. "Ooh, I hate her! Yesterday, she called on me, like I was her fucking maid or something." Matt peered at her, "sit down, let's talk" he said, gesturing toward the cushy chair next to the bed. Jennifer pulled it up beside Matt and leaned back while talking, "Well, I work for the WWF," she said. "No way!" Matt said, his eyes twinkling. "Yeah," she said, laughing a bit, "I don't do anything big, I'm a ringside photographer. I just started traveling with the company, usually I would just work when the WWF was in my town." "And where's that?" Matt asked, suddenly wanting to learn every detail about this girl's life. "Maryland. Whenever the WWF was in Baltimore or Washington, sometimes when they'd be in Virginia, I'd go and take the pictures then. I graduated college this past June, majoring in photography and decided to work full time for the WWF." Suddenly, she stopped, feeling a bit embarrassed. She was rambling on and on, but he was so easy to talk to, she thought. "Don't stop, go on." Matt said. "Are you sure?" She asked, a bit uneasy. Matt smiled, "hey, let's pretend this is one of those rare times where you meet a complete stranger and instead of them being boring and uninteresting you turn out to be with someone interesting and the complete opposite of boring. Someone you want to learn all about." His yummy chocolate eyes twinkled while saying that, so Jennifer smiled and decided to continue. "All right, Matt Hardy, but you need to tell me all about you next." Matt smiled widely, "of course, Jennifer, of course." They began talking about their lives. Jennifer was almost 25, which was only one year younger then Matt himself. She loved wrestling and she wanted to be apart of the WWF ever since she was about sixteen years old. She never wanted to become a wrestler, but dreamed of becoming an announcer or taking pictures like she does. She hopes after a while of working with the pictures, she could try out to be an announcer, maybe just on Heat or the Jakked and Metal shows. She knew Raw, Smackdown and the PPV's where the big tamales and liked to set her goals realistically. They talked about their dislike for Amy. It turned out Jennifer thought Amy was a stuck up bitch. Matt told her how Jeff was completely in love with her and it tore him up because he knew how worthless Amy was. Jennifer agreed Jeff was making a bad decision, but there wasn't really much Matt or she could do about it. Matt said he knew and decided to accept his brother's and Amy's relationship, for however long it was going to last. Matt then asked about Jennifer's life. She told him that she'd lived in Maryland her whole life and had just begun living outside of the state. She said, all the traveling she was doing could be a bit scary since she had always been such a big homebody, but she'd befriended Chyna and her fiancé Triple H and everything didn't seem so bad. Suddenly Matt asked, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you have anyone at home, like a boyfriend?" He hoped she'd say no, and when she hesitated, his hopes started to fall and then she said, "no. I have an ex. One of those total motherfuckers who was a complete waste of time, you just couldn't see it until it was too late." Her features had tensed and he apologized, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stir bad memories." "It's all right," she said, "what about you? Girlfriend?" "Nah," he said. "My last real girlfriend was about a year ago. I've been trying to concentrate mainly on wrestling and with my brother making the worst decisions of his life lately, I haven't had time. You're the first girl I've been attracted to in a while." He said, taking a leap out there. She smiled, and he broke into a smile as well. "Well, I like you too, and not just because you happen to be one of the sexiest wrestlers I've ever seen." He laughed, "I am pretty manly, huh?" "Yeah, especially while throwing up all over the place." She said laughing as well. He felt at such ease around her, and he'd only known her for a few hours. Suddenly, she glanced at her watch, "shit! It's almost 6 in the morning!" "Aw, man! We've got signings at 9!" "And I'm scheduled to take the pictures." "Really?" He asked, smiling at the thought of seeing her again. "Yeah, we should probably get at least two hours of sleep. I guess your brother slept at the bitch's place." Jennifer said. "God, I didn't even realize Jeff didn't come back! How about I meet you in front of your hotel room at 8:30 and we go to the signing together? Sound good?" Matt said. Jennifer smiled, "yeah, my room's 217." "Got it. I hope my good for nothing brother gets back here while I'm asleep. And if not he better be at the signing on time!" Jennifer laughed. "Sounding like a true big brother." She stood up and he got up as well. He walked with her to the door and went to open it. As she was about to leave, Matt leaned over and lightly brushed his lips on hers. His whole body tingled from it and he could tell Jennifer had felt the same reaction. "Goodnight, Matt." She said, slowly slipping out the door. He watched her walk down the hall, and after she disappeared, he fell onto his bed, dreaming about her.

Jennifer slipped into her hotel room just as her watch beeped, which signaled the beginning of an hour. "Wow, Six 'o clock," she said aloud. Jennifer was no stranger to getting in during the wee morning hours. During her High School and College years she'd snuck out and stayed out until all hours of the night, but this time she'd been when the most sexiest and wonderful man she'd ever met. She had to tell someone! She knew it was going to cost her a fortune to make this call, but she picked up the phone and dialed her best friend's phone number anyway. "Hello?" A sleepy voice answer. "Bitch! You won't believe where I just came from," Jennifer said, using the nickname she always used for her best friend. "What the fuck? Skank, is that you?" The voice answered. "Yeah! It's me, Kristen, it's Jen." "Oh my God!" Kristen shouted, sounding a little more awake. "I haven't heard from you in two weeks and you decide to call me at dawn! Damn, girl, what's going on? How's everything? Meet any sexy wrestlers, oooh, gimme all the details." Jennifer laughed, "oh, you won't believe me if I tell you." "Puh-lease! Remember all the shit that went on during high school? I'm the only person who'll believe half the shit you've done! Now spill!" "All right, all right," Jennifer relented, "well, remember that fairly new tag team, the Hardy Boyz?" "Yeah, the one with the rainbow colored hair is my favorite." Kristen answered. "Well, the other one, the one with the black hair and brown eyes, Matt, I spent the night with him." Jennifer said, smiling widely. "Damn! When did you meet?" Kristen asked. "Uh.. like nine hours ago?" "See, this is why I call you Skank." Kristen replied. Jennifer started cracking up, "no, no, I didn't sleep with him! We spent all night talking. It was so awesome. I just got in! Damn, and I've got a shoot in like 90 minutes, he's going to meet me in front of my hotel room door." She said, falling back onto her bed, smiling at the memory of his lips on hers. Kristen laughed, "wow. Well, Jen, I'm happy for you, girl. I knew this WWF thing would be the greatest thing for you. Now, I got a favor to ask of you." "Sure, anything," Jen answered. "Hook me up with his brother!" Jennifer and Kristen both laughed and Jen replied, "I seriously would love too, but he's got a girlfriend. Sorry, Kay." "Damn the luck," Kristen replied, only half seriously. "Well, girl, I have to pay for this phone call, so I better cut it short. I'll ring you next time we're in town." "Can't wait, we need to catch up," Kristen said. "Yeah, yeah, we do. Bye." Jen said, wishing it were back to the old days of college when her Fridays consisted of hanging out with her best friend a scooping out guys. "Oh, well, now I have Matt." She said, smiling while getting ready to get an hour's worth of sleep before work.

Jeff's eyes fluttered open as the bright sunlight had filtered its way into the hotel room. He rolled over and moaned, "what time is it?" He wondered aloud. He glanced over at the alarm clock and noticed the numbers reading 8:49. "Fuck!" He shouted, leaping out of bed, and also waking up Amy. "Baby, what is it?" She asked, sleepily. "Signings, photo shoot, eleven minutes." He babbled on, running around the room looking for his clothes. "Shit!" Amy shouted, heading for the shower. "No, no, not enough time," Jeff said, "just get dressed, Vince is going to flip if we're late." The pair threw on clothes, and ran brushes through their hair. They still looked as though they'd just woken up, but it was much better then if they showed up late. Vince had no tolerance for tardiness. They ran out the door, not bothering to even lock it behind them.
