Practically everybody's favorite wrestler, ( including myself ) The Man known as "Mister Pay-Per-View" is as brash and arrogant as they come.
The funny thing is, Rob Van Dam is every bit as good as he thinks he is, and maybe even better!
Van Dam once maintained the longest undefeated streak in Pay-Per-View history, a feat unlikely to ever be matched by anyone in pro wrestling.
Always seen with the "Manager of champions" Bill Alfonso, Van Dam claims that he is the "Whole Fuckin' Show" and even his opponents are hard pressed to argue.
Afterall, he can back it all up.
Van Dam is so arrogant, at times he tends to take his oppenents lightly, but more often than not, they find themsleves on the recieving end of a well placed Van Daminator!
Van Dam is without a dought an athletic freak, the true "Total Package" of wrestling.
He is as strong as he is flexible, quick as a cat, and able to engage any opponent with a flurry of aerial maneuvers and martial arts.
Utilizing his finisher's, The Van Daminator, The Imfamous 5 Star Frog Splash, and the Split-Legged Moonsault, Van Dam has run his way through competition worldwide.
Van Dam maintains an odd relationship with his former partner Sabu, who has been both his championship partner and challenger.
The feud between the two has brought great competitiveness and even greater respect between the two. Currently, their rivalry is at an all-time high, prompting several recent classic matches and more bad blood than ever.
The creator and holder of the "Van Dam Lift" weightlifting record, Rob Van Dam has found his success leading into roles in film and television, as well as national magazine articles about him and his habits in and out of the squared circle.
Having vacated his World Television championship (Which he held for an ECW record of 23 months) in order to prevent ECW on TNN from being cancelled by a powerhungry Cyrus the Virus, Van Dam is working his way back from a broken leg, more intent than ever to prove to the world he is "The Whole Fuckin' Show."
That intention was set back by a loss (which ended Van Dam's 2 year long undefeated streak) in his return match to his greatest rival, Jerry Lynn. The fact that it was a loss mired in controversy after Van Dam's closest friend, Scotty Anton, turned on RVD, has made that setback even harder to swallow.
Van Dam focused his energies on his goals. First he defeated Anton at Heatwave 2000, unleashing the Van Terminator in the process. Now, he is in pursuit of Rhino and the Network.
Van Dam has redemption on his mind as he battles his way back to the top of Extreme Championship Wrestling!
And redemption he got! At ECW's final Pay Per View, Guilty as Charged on January 7, 2001, Mr. Pay Per View returned to ECW, with the crowd on his side, and chants of "welcome back," RVD took on his greatest rival, Jerry Lynn, and soundly defeated him in the final Pay Per View match in the history of ECW!
RVD is now a regular performer on WWE's monday night Raw, gaining respect and captivating fans with his scintilating wrestling style, and his current "laid back" attitude!
When its all said and done, 30 years from now, remember this quote from Cyrus the Virus,"If God were a wrestler, he would be Rob Van Dam!"
