OPENING MATCH: STEVE WRIGHT vs. JOE MALENKO

-As it turns out, Malenko didn’t have to wait too long for his rematch with Wright. The two competitors picked up where they left off earlier and went about trading holds in a fine scientific display. Just as in the last match, Malenko went for a fireman’s carry into a bridge and Wright attempted to counter it. Malenko was ready this time, however, blocked Wright’s backslide and countered with one of his own to get a pin fall victory just seconds before the twenty minute time limit expired. Wright seemed both surprised and pleased by Malenko’s ability to learn and adapt. Again, the two men shook hands in a display of good sportsmanship.

RESULT: MALENKO BY PINFALL AT 19:58 WITH A BACKSLIDE COUNTER

SECOND MATCH: THE VALIANTS vs. ART CREWS & KENNY JAY

-The Valiants, Canadian flag in tow, mopped the floor with Jay and Crews from the moment that the opening bell rang. Jerry and Johnny quickly proved their superiority and set about trying to humiliate their inferior opponents. The Valiants had several opportunities to put the match away but opted to toy with Jay and Crews instead of going for the victory. The Rougeaus came out of the crowd and snatched the Canadian flag from the Valiant’s corner. The Rougeaus paused in the entranceway long enough for the Valiants to see what had transpired. An angry Johnny in the ring ordered Jerry to go after the flag. Jerry took off in pursuit of the Rougeaus while Johnny hollered and pointed towards the popular Canadian duo. As Johnny was distracted, Art Crews rolled Johnny up with a schoolboy and got the surprise three count! Jerry was half way down the ramp by this time and could not make it back to the ring in time to break up the pin attempt. The Rougeaus fled to the back with the Canadian flag while the Valiants fumed in the ring.

RESULT: ART CREWS & KENNY JAY BY PINFALL AT 6:13 AFTER THE ROUGEAUS SHOWED UP AT RINGSIDE

THIRD MATCH: LEO BURKE vs. KING KONG BUNDY

-The huge Bundy angrily badmouthed Burke as the powerfully built Canadian stepped through the ropes. Once the bell rang, Bundy became only angrier. Burke used his wrestling ability to confuse Bundy from the outset. Bundy looked as though he never expected Burke to come to him and attempt to execute some sort of a game plan. Burke went about attempting to take the big man off his feet, fairing better to do so than anyone else to date. Burke was able to tire Bundy out and force Bundy to go on the defensive, but Leo eventually made the mistake of staying too close to Bundy for too long and began to feel the brunt of Bundy’s massive girth. Bundy leaned on Burke using his weight to his full advantage while trying to regain his breath. The big man took down Burke with an avalanche in the corner and then went for the pin. The referee counted to three and started to signal to ring the bell, but Bundy stopped him and as usual demanded that the ref pat the canvas two additional times for a count of two. The referee went through with this seemingly menial task but before his hand, came down for the fifth time Burke kicked out! The referee then signaled that the match would continue since Bundy had asked for the five count instead of the three. An enraged Bundy went after the referee, but Burke rolled him up from behind and almost got a three count of his own. Bundy took back over the match for a couple more minutes, but Burke then got a surge of energy and made an astounding come back. Burke hit Bundy with a belly to belly suplex that sent Bundy rolling out of the ring. Bundy started to stir as the referee’s count reached seven but could not make it back into the ring in time to avoid being counted out.

RESULT: BURKE BY COUNT OUT AT 12:08

INTERMISSION

FOURTH MATCH: JACQUES ROUGEAU vs. AKIO SATO

-Jacques and Raymond Rougeau make their way to the ring with the newly regained Canadian flag, but are attacked from behind on their way to the ring by The Valiants and Adrian Street. The Valiants leave with the flag once again as Jacques crawls to the ring in an attempt to avoid being counted out. Jacques just barely makes it to the ring in time, and when he gets there he is in no shape for the ready and waiting Sato. Sato dominates the early going with karate kicks, chops and other high impact maneuvers. Sato went for a karate kick to the back of the head but Jacques ducked and Sato landed flat on his face. Rougeau then caught the Japanese sensation off guard with an Oklahoma side roll to get the pin fall.

RESULT: JACQUES ROUGEAU BY PINFALL AT 10:12

FIFTH MATCH: TERRY TAYLOR vs. BOBBY DUNCUM

-Taylor came to the ring and demanded a match with Duncum. Duncum and Orton reluctantly come out and Duncum accepts. Once Duncum gets in a little bit of trouble the match becomes marred by Orton’s interference, but Taylor, who had grown to expect it by now stayed one step ahead. In the end, Orton slide a chain into the ring for Duncum, but Taylor stepped on it at Duncum went for it and then hit Duncum with a sunset flip for the pin. Realizing that the original plan had backfired, Orton tried to enter the ring to break up the pin attempt but was dragged from the apron by Blackjack Mulligan, who then proceeded to place Orton in the claw hold!

RESULT: TAYLOR BY PINFALL AT 23:17

MAIN EVENT: ED WISKOWSKI & THE SHEIK vs. MIL MASCARAS & ANDRE THE GIANT

-The threesome of the Sheik, Wiskowski and the Grand Wizard make their way to ringside first amidst the crowd’s boos. Next Mascaras makes his way to the ring riding the Giant’s huge shoulders to the delight of the crowd. The Sheik and Wiskowski flee the ring and the match settles into a traditional tag team match with Mascaras and Wiskowski doing most of the work. Wiskowski continued to work over the Mexican star’s leg, which had been injured earlier in the day. Wiskowski attempted the spinning toehold on several occasions only to have Mascaras break the hold or the Giant come in and break the hold. As Wiskowski and Mascaras were duking it out in the ring, a brawl between Andre and the Sheik erupted on the floor. Andre posted the Sheik putting him out of action for moment. The Giant then took care of the Grand Wizard who attacked him from behind with little effect. The Giant got in the ring and he and Mascaras took turns beating on Wiskowski. Andre hit a big body slam on Wiskowski and then he went and stood in the corner. Mascaras signaled that he was going up top and then climbed up the ropes and onto Andre’s shoulders. Wiskowski slowly started to regain his senses as he stumbled to his feet. Then he turned around only to be hit with a beautiful high cross body block for the pin.

RESULT: MASCARAS & ANDRE WIN AT 18:19, MASCARAS PINNED WISKOWSKI WITH A HIGH CROSS BODY OFF OF THE GIANT’S SHOULDERS
